Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs 2026

The Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs take place on the private Lambton Estate in Chester-le-Street, County Durham on 16 August 2026. The event is held within estate grounds normally closed to the public and features woodland and parkland landscapes and historic architecture.

Distances offered include:

  • 5 miles: mixed terrain, a shorter route suitable for intermediate runners.
  • 10 miles: moderately undulating, with woodland trails, open fields and estate roads.
  • 15 miles: the 10-mile route plus the 5-mile loop, for longer endurance efforts.

Routes run on scenic woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths and brief sections on private estate roads. Route maps are provided for the 5-mile and 10-mile courses; the 15-mile distance combines both loops.

The event is Canicross friendly. One well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North for instant and accurate race results.

All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt can be added during registration for £12.00. On-site parking is available for participants and spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
