Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs - August 2026
Lambton Estate Summer Trail Runs take place within the private grounds of the Lambton Estate at Lambton Castle, Chester-le-Street, County Durham. The estate is normally closed to the public except for Sunday nature walks.
Distances offered:
- 5 km Trail Run - new for 2026
- 5 mile Trail Run - mixed terrain shorter route
- 10 mile Trail Run - moderately undulating, woodland and estate roads
- 15 mile Trail Run - 10 mile route plus 5 mile loop
Route maps are provided for the 5 mile and 10 mile courses and the 5 km route is to be confirmed. Runners can expect woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths and brief sections on private estate roads. The venue includes parkland, woodland and historic estate features that are not normally open to the public.
The event is canicross friendly. One well controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North and finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. A custom event T shirt is available for an additional £12.50 during registration. Parking is available on site for participants and spectators.
