Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs 2026
Lambton Estate hosts organised trail runs within the private grounds of Lambton Castle, Chester-le-Street, County Durham (DH3 4PW). The event uses estate trails and parkland that are not normally open to the public. Route surfaces include woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths, and short sections on private estate roads.
Distances offered:
- 5 Mile Trail Run: mixed terrain route for intermediate runners.
- 10 Mile Trail Run: moderately undulating course with trails, fields, and estate roads.
- 15 Mile Trail Run: the 10-mile route plus the 5-mile loop.
Route maps are provided for the 5-mile and 10-mile courses. The event is canicross friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North and results are produced instantly at the finish.
All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt is available as an option for £12 during registration. Parking is available on-site for participants and spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
