Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs

The Lambton Castle Summer Trail Runs take place within the private grounds of the Lambton Estate in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. This event provides access to trails that are typically closed to the general public, featuring a landscape of woodland, parkland, and historic architecture. The terrain consists of woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths, and short segments on private estate roads.

Participants can choose from three different distances:

  • 5 Mile Trail Run featuring a mixed terrain route.
  • 10 Mile Trail Run on a moderately undulating course through fields and woods.
  • 15 Mile Trail Run consisting of a 10-mile loop followed by a 5-mile loop.

The event is Canicross friendly, allowing one well-controlled dog per runner provided they remain on a lead at all times. All courses are professionally timed using live chip-timing technology. Entrants must be aged 15 or older on the day of the event to participate in any of the distances.

On-site parking is available for both participants and spectators. At the finish line, runners receive a bespoke event medal, merchandise, and refreshments. There is also an option to purchase a custom event T-shirt during the registration process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
