Remembrance Run 2026 - North
Saturn Running stages the Remembrance Run in Durham at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club beside the River Wear. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. The course is a signed trail route with views of the Cathedral and is on public footpaths; walkers are welcome and headphones are allowed.
The event is run as a Time Challenge lasting 6 hours and 32 minutes, allowing participants to choose how many laps to complete. The minimum official finishing distance is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a shorter loop depending on course conditions. The lap includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to accommodate age distance rules. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Remembrance medal; distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances. A poppy pin is available for an additional £3.00. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. Aid tables with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items are provided at the start/finish of each lap.
Venue facilities include toilets, a bar and showers at the rowing club. There is pay and display parking in the city centre and nearby streets; participants must not use the rowing club car park. A bag drop is available but not secure. Final race instructions are sent by email and race numbers are issued at on-site registration.
