Event

The CBTE Morland Half Marathon is scheduled for 16 August 2026 and starts and finishes at Morland Village Hall, CA10 3AS, near Penrith. The race distance is 13.65 miles and the route is largely off-road on mixed terrain with 1,330 ft of elevation. The route is partially self-navigated with some signage and follows rivers, becks, woodlands, pastures and Eden Valley villages, using sections of the Morland Marathon route.

Entries and logistics

Entries open 18 August 2025 and close 26 July 2026. The minimum age is 17 on the event date. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £37.00 and Unaffiliated £39.00. The entry package includes a finisher medal, a t-shirt, and water and snacks at two checkpoints. An option to purchase event cancellation cover (XCover) is available.

Prizes and organiser

Trail runs nearby

Run into the night on an unmarked rough route to Chapelfell Top in the Silent Night Race. This 6.6 km out and back with 370 m of climb requires navigation, strict kit and pre entry, making it a real test for experienced fell runners.

On 20 December take on the Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra, a 65 km loop from Kirkby Lonsdale climbing seven summits and finishing with beer or mulled wine and sourdough pizza. Tough, scenic and hugely satisfying.

Join Beyond the Lune Winter Editions for festive trail runs from The Royal Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale, with 5 km, 10 km and 20 km routes over rivers, footpaths and fells. Hot drinks, treats and a finisher beer add extra festive cheer.

Take on a classic Lake District fell around Latrigg on a flagged 8 km / 5 miles course with 460 m of climb and stunning views. Starts and finishes at Fitz Park Pavilion, Keswick, and pre entry via SiEntries is required.
