NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk

The NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk is an annual event held in Pooley Bridge, originally established in 2016. The route utilizes an out-and-back format, starting and finishing at the Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall. Participants follow a course that leads to Hallin Fell before returning along the same path.

The course features a variety of terrain, including established trails, paths, sections of tarmac lane, and the open slopes of Hallin Fell. The route is simply signposted and includes event marshals at key locations. Two drinks stations are positioned along the course, which participants pass twice during their journey.

Available distances and turning points:

  • 21 km (13 miles) - The full distance to Hallin Fell and back.
  • 16 km (10 miles) - A shorter option turning at the Martindale Church support point.
  • 9.6 km (6 miles) - A shorter option turning at The Sitting Stone support point.

The event uses electronic timing and monitoring for all participants. It is open to both runners and walkers, with designated starting windows provided for different categories based on pace. Participants aged 14-18 are permitted to run if accompanied by an adult. Post-event refreshments, including tea, coffee, and tray bakes, are provided at the village hall.
