About the race
NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk is an out and back running and walking event based at Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall, with the full route reaching Hallin Fell. The route is easy to follow and returns the same way, running via The Cockpit and Martindale Church and using much of the Ullswater Way. The surface is a mixture of good trails and paths, some wet under foot, a short section of tarmac lane and the open slopes of Hallin Fell. The route is signposted and marshals are positioned at key points.
Electronic timing and monitoring are used. There is a checkpoint and drinks station at Martindale Church that participants pass twice. There are separate start windows for walkers, slower/non-competitive runners and faster runners; late starters are not permitted. Walkers and slower runners may turn back at support points if they prefer shorter distances.
Family team entries are available for up to six people, with alternative pricing for under-14s, and group discounts are available on request. Runners aged 14 to 18 may start with the runners if accompanied by an adult and must be entered as individual runners. After the event, free hot and cold drinks and a tray bake will be available in the village hall. Pubs and cafes in Pooley Bridge are also nearby for post-event refreshments.
