NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk

The NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk is an annual outdoor event based in Pooley Bridge. Originally established in 2016 to support the local community, the event takes participants through the landscape surrounding Ullswater. The full route is an out-and-back course that reaches Hallin Fell.

Registration, starting, and finishing all take place at the Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall. The course utilizes a mixture of trails and paths, with some sections of tarmac lane and open slopes on Hallin Fell. The route is marked with signs and marshals are positioned at key points. Electronic timing is used to monitor all participants.

Participants select their distance by choosing how far out to travel before returning to the finish:

  • 13 miles: The full distance reaching Hallin Fell.
  • 10 miles: Turning around at the Martindale Church support point.
  • 6 miles: Turning around at The Sitting Stone support point.

The course features two drinks stations that participants pass both on the outward and return legs. Post-event refreshments, including tea, coffee, and traybakes, are provided at the village hall.

The event accommodates both walkers and runners. Entry is open to individuals and family teams. Participants aged 14 to 18 may join the runner categories if they are accompanied by an adult throughout the course. No specialized navigation skills are required to complete the route.
