Fremington Frenzy
Fremington Frenzy is an 11 km trail race based at Low Fremington Village Hall, Reeth, North Yorkshire. The route is hilly and mostly single track, with a very steep first ascent, several technical descents and sections over mining hushes. The course offers views down Swaledale and follows Arkle Beck back into Reeth through The Heggs-Castle Renaturing Project.
The surface is a mix of grassy trods, hard-packed footpaths and loose rocky sections. The route is fully marked with tape, pin flags and coloured arrow signs; critical turns and road crossings will be marshalled. Organisers advise carrying a copy of the route map because markings can be moved or taken. GPX and a PDF map are available for download.
There is a mainly water-based aid station with some snack items; the aid provision includes vegan and gluten-free options. Post-race refreshments include hot or cold drinks and cakes provided by a local group; additional food and drinks may be available for purchase. Toilets are available at the village hall during registration and portable toilets will be sited in the start field. Parking is provided in a nearby working field, which may be muddy.
Mandatory kit includes taped-seam waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves and an emergency blanket or bivvy bag; kit spot checks may be carried out. Entrants must be aged 16 or older. Entry numbers are limited and race fees include a small donation to the National Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
