Peak Rail 7 pits runners against a steam hauled heritage train on the route from Rowsley South to Matlock Riverside and back. The course uses shared trails with marshals, on site parking, and post race photos and results published online.

April 2027

A 100 km coast to coast ultra from St Bees to Shap following Wainwright’s route through the Lake District. The event emphasises self-sufficiency, offers mapped navigation, staffed aid stations and mandatory kit checks.

Trail run and walk at Guisborough Rugby Club on 4 April 2026 supporting Teesside Samaritans, with 10 km and 20 km options, finishers medals, T shirts, stocked checkpoints and medical cover.

A 300km self supported ultra race following Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. Entries open 1 June 2026; minimum age 18 and a total entry fee of £999 with a non refundable deposit.

A canal side running festival on 4 April 2027 along the Rochdale Canal offering races from 5 km to 100 km, with aid stations, chip timing, optional transport and prize categories.

The Normanby Hall Adventure Race on 4 April 2027 is a cross country obstacle event at Normanby Hall Country Park with water, mud, sand, crawl nets and horse jumps. Distances include 5 km, 10 km and a junior Bale Jumper.

A 55 km ultra following Wainwright's coast to coast route from Kirkby Stephen to Richmond, passing the Nine Standards and Swaledale. The event emphasizes adventure and self sufficiency and has a minimum age of 18.

Trail running in quieter parts of Whinlatter forest on 4 April 2027 with two marked, chip timed routes. Dogs are allowed on suitable harnesses and GPX files are available.

Moors Traverse 2027 is an 80 km coast to coast ultra on 4 April following Wainwrights route from Ingleby Cross to Robin Hoods Bay. The event emphasises self sufficiency and crosses the northern edge of the North York Moors.

Trail races on the Monsal Trail in Bakewell with a half marathon and a 10k on Saturday and Sunday in April. The course follows a former railway line through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct with route maps available.

Trail races in Hawkshead on 11th April 2026 with marked 10k and 16k routes, panoramic Lake District views and the mile-long Coffin Trail climb. Event HQ is at Hawkshead Recreation Ground with marshals, water stations and an event village.

Trail running event in the Lake District on 10 April 2027 offering 53k and 23k routes around Derwent Water and Catbells. The race is TRA licensed with chip timing, GPX files and live tracking for ultra runners.

A 13.8 mile off road half marathon from the summit of Moel y Parc along the Offa's Dyke National Trail to Prestatyn beach. The hilly route includes about 2,450 ft of ascent, two feed stations and electronic timing.

Off road ultramarathon around Calderdale with 50 mile and 30 mile options following the traditional Calderdale Way, passing Heptonstall, Todmorden and Brighouse. Six aid stations and cut offs of 17 hours and 10 hours.

A canicross event in Dodd Wood with fully marked forest courses and views over Bassenthwaite Lake. Options of an 8K or 5K loop, chip timed, and allows two dogs per runner on mainly wide trails.

Final Lakeland Paws Season 5 event at Whinlatter with two fully marked trail routes, chip timed, dog friendly options and season prize giving.

May 2027

The Pennine Barrier 50 mile on 1 May 2027 is a supported 50 mile ultramarathon in the United Kingdom, organised by GB ULTRAS LTD and listed in the Ultra Great Britain Race Series with live online GPS tracking.

A five mile trail race at Clock Face Country Park on Sunday 9 May 2027 held in memory of Chris Lam. Organised by Widnes Running Club with chip timing, podium prizes for men and women and an age minimum of 15.

A single stage 160 mile trail ultramarathon along the Cleveland Way and Tabular Hills with over 7000 m ascent and a 50 hour limit. Entries are capped at 60, all runners must have motorised support and trackers are included.

June 2027

A 24 hour individual challenge in the Peak District where runners complete as many 21.7 km loops as they can. On site accommodation, meals and safety support are provided and finishers receive an eco-trophy.
