Hardmoors 160

The Hardmoors 160 is a single stage trail ultramarathon of 160 miles linking the Tabular Hills Route with the Cleveland Way. The route starts at Sutton Bank and follows the Cleveland Way and Tabular Hills to Scalby and the clifftops, then joins the Hardmoors 110 route to finish at Helmsley. The course includes over 7000 m of ascent and competitors have 50 hours to complete the distance.

Entries are limited to 60 competitors and all entrants must have completed a single stage event of at least 60 trail miles to qualify. All competitors must be supported by motorised back up; support crews may be shared but must attend compulsory support points. Some checkpoints are out of bounds for support crews and organisers publish a full checkpoint list with notes on water, food and hot drinks at selected locations.

Trackers are included with entry and broadcast competitors locations online for safety and crew planning. A detailed mandatory kit list is enforced and spot checks are carried out on course. Missing key items can incur time penalties or disqualification. Marshals and race control decisions are final, runners must follow the declared route and any undisclosed checkpoint locations, and participants are asked to respect local communities and the environment.
