Event overview

The Hardmoors Farndale event is a trail race day held on Sunday 9 August 2026 at Hutton Le Hole Village Hall, YO62 6UA. The event offers three courses:

  • Trail Marathon
  • Half Marathon
  • Trail 10k

The event has a maximum entry limit of 400. Recorded ascent figures for the courses are 4200 ft (marathon), 2300 ft (half) and 1130 ft (10k). Time limits are set for each distance: 9 hours for the marathon, 6 hours for the half marathon and 4 hours for the 10k. Age minimums are 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon and 10 for the 10k. Medals are provided and an optional race t-shirt is available for an extra fee.

Entry, route and rules

Entries opened in September 2025. Entry fees vary by distance and attachment status; optional t-shirt costs are shown on the organiser entry page. The event is a cupless race; participants should bring their own cup. Dogs are not permitted.

Courses are not fully signed or taped. Competitors must download and carry printed route descriptions and maps and are responsible for their own navigation; GPX files and route maps are provided. Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of each race and includes a printed map, waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, capacity to carry 500 ml fluid, survival bag, foil blanket and means to attach the race number.
