Hardmoors 26.2: Farndale takes place on Sunday 9 August 2026 at Hutton Le Hole Village Hall, YO62 6UA. The event offers three trail races: a Trail Marathon, a Half Marathon and a Trail 10k. Entry is limited to 400 participants. Age limits are: Marathon 18+, Half Marathon 16+, 10k 10+. Time limits are 9 hours for the marathon, 6 hours for the half and 4 hours for the 10k. Ascent figures for the courses are listed as 4,200 ft, 2,300 ft and 1,130 ft respectively. Entry fees are shown as Marathon £49 attached / £51 unattached, Half Marathon £36 attached / £38 unattached, and 10k £28 attached / £30 unattached. A race t-shirt is optional at an additional £10.

Facilities, navigation and rules

Registration includes a mandatory kit check and failure to carry compulsory items will result in disqualification. Mandatory items for the full and half include a printed route description and map, waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, capacity to carry 500 ml of fluid, survival bag, foil blanket and means to attach the race bib. The 10k requires a printed route, survival bag, foil blanket, bib attachment and capacity to carry 500 ml of fluid. Courses are not fully taped or signed; downloadable maps, route descriptions and GPX files are provided and competitors must navigate themselves. Parking is marshalled in a large field near the village hall (day cost £4) with an alternative North York Moors Authority car park nearby (£5.50). Camper van parking is available with basic services and portable toilets. Dogs are not permitted and the event is cupless, so participants should bring a drinking cup.
