Hardmoors 26.2: Farndale is a trail running event located in the North York Moors. Part of a series of six trail marathons, the Farndale edition features circular routes that traverse the scenery of the moors and the Cleveland Heritage Coastline. All distances begin and end at the Hutton Le Hole Village Hall.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • Trail Marathon: Open to runners aged 18 and older, with a time limit of 9 hours.
  • Half Marathon: Open to runners aged 16 and older, with a time limit of 6 hours.
  • Trail 10k: Open to runners aged 10 and older, with a time limit of 4 hours.

The event requires specific mandatory equipment for all participants. For the Marathon and Half Marathon, runners must carry a waterproof jacket with taped seams, a hat, gloves, a survival bag, a foil blanket, a printed route description with a map, and have the capacity to carry 500ml of fluid. The course is supported by marshals at checkpoints and a sweeper who follows the last participants. Facilities at the start include a designated parking field near the Village Hall and options for pre-booked camper van parking on the Saturday night prior to the event.
