Hardmoors 26.2 Farndale Trail Races

The Hardmoors 26.2 Farndale Trail Races take place in the North York Moors, with the event hub located at Hutton Le Hole Village Hall. This event is part of the Hardmoors 26.2 series and offers three distinct distances for participants:

  • Trail Marathon: A course of approximately 29 miles with 4200 feet of ascent.
  • Half Marathon: A course of approximately 16.5 miles with 2300 feet of ascent.
  • Trail 10k: A course of approximately 8.3 miles with 1130 feet of ascent.

The routes are not taped or signed, except for specific complex sections. Participants are responsible for their own navigation and must carry a printed route description and map, which are provided by the organizer for download.

Strict mandatory kit requirements are in place for all distances. For the full and half marathon, this includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, capacity to carry 500ml of fluid, a survival bag, and a foil blanket. The 10k participants must carry a survival bag and foil blanket. All runners must also carry their printed navigation materials.

The event is cupless, meaning participants must bring their own cups for drinks at checkpoints and the finish. Parking is available in a marshaled field in the center of Hutton-le-Hole for a fee. Refreshments, including cakes and crisps, are provided at the finish line. Results are categorized by gender and age groups, ranging from open categories to veterans over 70.
