Hardmoors 26.2 Farndale Trail Races

Hardmoors 26.2 Farndale Trail Races take place at Hutton Le Hole Village Hall, Hutton Le Hole, YO62 6UA (what3words ///protects.loafing.horns). The event is limited to 330 entrants and holds an ARC permit ARC 26/0065. Entries open in September 2025 for voucher holders and general entries, with entries closing on Friday 24 July 2026.

Distances offered

• Marathon: 29 miles, 4200 feet ascent, 9 hour time limit
• Half marathon: 16.5 miles, 2300 feet ascent, 6 hour time limit
• Trail 10k: 8.3 miles, 1130 feet ascent, 4 hour time limit

The races are not taped or signed; competitors receive downloadable route descriptions, maps and GPX files and are responsible for navigating the course themselves. Competitors must carry mandatory kit for the duration of their event. Required items for the full and half routes include a printed route description and map, waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, capacity to carry 500 ml of fluid, survival bag, foil blanket and means to attach a race bib. The 10k has a shorter mandatory kit list including a printed map, survival bag and foil blanket.

Parking is in a field 100 yards north of the Village Hall with a £4 daytime charge and over 400 spaces; a North York Moors Authority car park outside the village charges £5.50. Camper van and caravan parking is available in the car park field for Friday and Saturday nights at £15 per unit per night and includes fresh water and an elsan disposal point; there are portable toilets but no shower facilities.
