Mind Over Moors organises an ultra running event that follows the full Esk Valley Way, covering a distance of 36 miles with a reported ascent of 4,054. The event is fully tracked and supplies Open trackers. The course is way marked with Esk Valley signs; GPX and Strava routes are available, and Premium OpenTracking GPS provides live timing and splits. The route is also available in OS format via the OpenTracking website, and tape is used where needed for extra clarity.

Support and facilities include first aid medical cover, five checkpoints with toilet facilities or nearby village toilets, and basic food and drinks at each checkpoint. There is an option for a non returnable food drop bag at the midway checkpoint. Free parking is provided at the event, and the Esk Valley train line serves villages along the route for return travel.
