Summit 2 Sea - The Offa's Dyke Half Marathon

Summit 2 Sea is a spring off road half marathon of approximately 13.8 miles that starts on the summit of Moel y Parc and follows the Offa's Dyke National Trail to a finish on the beach at Prestatyn. The course begins at just over 1300 ft above sea level and finishes at sea level, with more than 2450 ft of total ascent. A race cut off of 5 hours and an intermediate cut of 2 hours 10 minutes at 10.5 km are applied.

Registration takes place at the Nova Centre, Prestatyn. A coach service, available to book at extra cost nearer race day, transfers competitors to Bodfari; from there a warm up walk of about 35 minutes leads to the start on the summit. Competitors who have arranged their own transport may travel directly to Bodfari village for the ascent to the start. The National Trail is described as well marked, and there are two feed stations on the route. The event is electronically timed.

Participants are expected to carry mandatory kit which may be relaxed slightly depending on conditions: waterproof jacket and trousers; hat or buff and gloves; a foil blanket or orange survival bag; a fully charged mobile phone; a whistle; and at least 500 ml of water at the start. Course record times are listed as Male 2:02:15 (2025) and Female 2:16:25 (2025). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
