Summit 2 Sea - The Offa's Dyke Half Marathon

This spring trail event covers roughly 13.8 miles from the summit of Moel y Parc along the Offa's Dyke National Trail to the finish on the beach at Prestatyn. The route starts above 1300 ft and finishes at sea level, with a total ascent of over 2450 ft, and includes hilly terrain and significant elevation change.

A generous overall cut off of five hours is applied, with an interim cut at 10.5 km of two hours ten minutes, making the event accessible to runners and fit walkers. There are two feed stations positioned along the course and the National Trail is described as well marked. Results are recorded using electronic timing.

Registration takes place at the finish location, the Prestatyn Nova Centre. A coach service, bookable at extra cost, can transport competitors to Bodfari; from there a warm up walk of around 45 minutes leads to the start on the summit. Competitors may also make their own way to Bodfari if they prefer.

Mandatory kit is required and may be adjusted for conditions. Expected items include waterproof jacket and trousers; hat or buff and gloves; foil blanket or orange survival bag; fully charged mobile phone; whistle; and at least 500 ml of water at the start.

Course records: male 2:02:15 (2025), female 2:16:25 (2025). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
