Canalathon-Ultra Running Festival

The event takes place on 22 March 2026 at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club, Walton Street, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX6 1AN. The organiser is Qswim Adventure (T/A Uswim Adventure Limited). The races run along the Rochdale Canal on towpaths with minimal elevation and minimal navigation. Race headquarters and the finish for all distances are at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club.

The 100km is an out-and-back course from Sowerby Bridge on well-maintained canal towpaths. The 50km starts at Ancoats and finishes in Sowerby Bridge, covering the full length of the Rochdale Canal. The Half Marathon starts near The Summit, Todmorden, and finishes at Sowerby Bridge. All listed distances have an age range of 16 to 98 years; the event minimum age is 16.

Entry fees published are: 100km £90 (4-person relay team £120), 50km £60, Half Marathon £45, 10km £25. Event features include chip timing, marshalled and signed courses, aid stations with food and drinks (participants asked to bring a cup or bottle), transport option for 50km and Half Marathon runners from Sowerby Bridge, free parking, portable toilets, changing and showers, first aid and sweepers, medals and trophies, post-race hot food and photographs. Run the rugged hills around Otley, Ilkley and Guiseley at Punk Panther Wharfedale Skyline, with half, 20 mile and ultramarathon options. Expect rocky ridges, friendly checkpoints and a finisher medal and event tee to celebrate your day.

Tackle the Litton Birks Fell Race on 15 November 2025, a punchy 5 km fell course near Skipton with a new route and plenty of climb. Junior races and prize giving at the Queens Arms make for a friendly autumn running day.

Take on the Tour of Pendle, a 27 km fell race over Pendle Hill with 1473 m of climb and spectacular moorland views. FRA AL licensed, it demands navigation skills and mandatory kit, so it suits experienced runners.

Challenge the Beast or Beastier in Bamford on 15 November 2025, two scenic fell races across the Peak District. Bat shaped anticlockwise routes climb Bamford Moor, Bamford Edge and Win Hill for a classic Hope Valley skyline run.
