Monsal Trail March Half Marathon and 10k Weekend

The event takes place on Saturday 28 March 2026 and Sunday 29 March 2026 at Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE. It is organised by Nice Work and offers two race distances on a traffic free section of the Monsal Trail. Route maps and GPX files are available for download.

The course follows a former Midland Railway line, passing through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct. The surface is multi terrain and described as undulating. The event includes a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. On the day entry fees are listed as £40 for the half marathon and £35 for the 10k. Age limits apply: entrants must be at least 17 years old for the half marathon and 15 years old for the 10k.

Race headquarters are at Bakewell Station. There is no general car parking at the station other than for disabled motorists; public pay and display car parks are located about 500 metres away in the town centre. The road to the station is a no through road and is not suitable for drop offs. Additional parking, spectator facilities and a café are available about a mile along the trail at Hassop Station.
