Mulled & Merry 2026
Mulled & Merry is a trail race held at Thornbridge Estate and its on-site Christmas Markets on 29 November 2026. The event uses a circular off-road route that passes the Headstone viaduct and offers views across Monsal Dale, returning to the estate for post race refreshments and free entry to the Christmas Markets. Santa is scheduled to make an appearance, and the event includes family friendly elements.
The advertised distance is 7.5 km with approximately 220 m of ascent. The organiser provides a complimentary festive hot drink and a sweet treat after the race, at least one race photo, a TFG event postcard with wildflower seeds, and professional timing with full results. Downloadable GPX route maps are available and the course is fully waymarked with regular marshal points. Outdoor First Aid qualified marshals are on duty and a secure bag drop is provided. Spot prizes and additional festive treats are noted for overall and category winners.
A portion of each entry fee is allocated to trail repair and nature recovery projects across Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UK Athletics rules. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on 29 November 2026. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket, suitable off road running shoes, a GPS device with the route or a map and compass, hat or buff and gloves, a fully charged mobile phone and water. Mandatory kit must be presented at registration and carried on course; failure to comply may lead to cancellation of entry without refund.
