The Dales Dash
The Dales Dash is a self guided trail run of 6 miles in the Peak District National Park, taking place on Saturday 12 December 2026. The event starts and finishes at Great Longstone Village Hall in Great Longstone, Derbyshire.
The route follows the Monsal Trail and passes through historic railway tunnels and across the Monsal Viaduct. It then continues through Monsal and Cressbrook Dales, with a mixture of flowing trails, woodland and open farmland. The course includes climbs and descents and offers views across parts of the Peak District.
The race is self guided. Participants receive written instructions for the route on the day. There are no GPX files to follow and no marshals on the route, so participants are responsible for their own safety. Participants are timed out at the start and timed back in at the finish.
