Calderdale Way Ultra

The Calderdale Way Ultra is an off road ultramarathon that follows the traditional Calderdale Way route devised in the 1970s and passes through settlements such as Heptonstall and Mankinholes and larger towns including Todmorden and Brighouse. The course uses open moorland, woodland trails, canal sections and some road crossings.

The 50 mile course starts and finishes in Heptonstall and includes six aid stations. The fifth aid station is in Todmorden, positioned between two climbs nicknamed "little bastard" and "big bastard". The 50 mile event has a 17 hour cut off to complete the course.

The 30 mile course starts at Brookfoot lock, Brighouse and finishes in Heptonstall. It has a 10 hour cut off and includes the climb out of Todmorden followed by predominantly flat running to the finish.

Entry details include opening and closing dates, age minimum of 18 on race day, and tiered fees for FRA members, non members and under 23s. Registration is held at Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club, Acre Lane, HX7 7LT, with additional morning registration at the 30 mile start when available. Take on the Ossy Moors Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday 15 April 2026. This lively 5 mile fell course with about 300 m of climb weaves Bowland trails and offers on the day entry for a friendly competitive vibe.

Herod Farm Fell Race is a classic mid-week fell run. The course covers 3 miles with 1,100ft of ascent. Race HQ at Jubilee House offers parking, toilets, and post-race refreshments.

A 230 km Pennine Bridleway trail challenge to be completed within 75 hours, crossing Peak District and Yorkshire moors to finish in Cumbria. Indoor checkpoints provide hot meals, sleeping space and water support.

A 137 km trail challenge on the Pennine Bridleway with a 50 hour cut-off, indoor checkpoints, bunkroom accommodation and GPX navigation support. Entry is limited to 20 participants and total ascent is 3275 m.
