October 2026

A waymarked 100 miles circumnavigation of Dartmoor across varied moorland, woodland and riverside trails with six indoor checkpoints and GPS tracking. A 51 miles Granite 50 option follows the eastern section with three checkpoints.

Repeat a 9 mile mixed-terrain loop at The Nature Centre, completing as many laps as possible within an eight hour limit.

A 50 mile trail race across eastern Dartmoor with over 2000 metres of ascent, multiple checkpoints, GPS support and a 15 hour time allowance, starting in Scorriton and finishing in Okehampton.

A point to point 50 km ultramarathon from Moors Valley Country Park to Hengistbury Head, following forest trails, the Castleman Trailway and the Bournemouth seafront, with feed stations, GPS route files and a bespoke finisher medal.

A 7 hour Time Challenge at Dare Valley Country Park with flexible distances from 3 km to ultramarathon options. Finishers receive a themed medal, distance pins and refreshments including doughnuts and ice cream.

A multi terrain 10 mile race through Stover Country Park with a separate 1 mile Fun Run for children. The event is limited to 325 runners and offers medals, parking, changing rooms and free race photos.

A trail half marathon through the Quantock Hills with technical trails, climbs, stiles and stream crossings. The route has marshals, two feed stations and clear signage, with awards for top finishers and weekend camping and bunkhouse option..

Lap-based trail event on the Wray Valley Trail from Mill Marsh Park offering distances from 5 km to ultramarathon and medal or no-medal entry options.

An off road marathon from Salisbury to Winchester on 4 October 2026, run mostly on historic country tracks. The event offers full, half and a five mile mini, includes buses and finisher items, and raises funds for local charities.

A chip timed 10 km trail race through Somerset countryside passing the Stony Littleton Long Barrow, with full medical cover, Race Nation app integration, secure baggage drop, showers, free parking and a bespoke finisher medal.

The The South Hams Ultra will take place in Kingsbridge on Saturday 10 October 2026. You can run between 26 and 100 miles.

A 55 km circular trail ultra across the Forest of Dean that follows a GPX navigation route through single track, riverside sections and ridges. Canicross has its own category and aid stations provide water, food and toilets.

An LDWA members only 50 mile event from Crowcombe with two loops into the Brendon Hills and the Quantocks, set in West Somerset in autumn. Mandatory kit, a live tracker, and prior long distance experience are required.

A 24 hour looped endurance event in Haldon Forest where runners complete one lap every hour and choose distances from 10k to ultramarathon. The final lap decides the winners and all participants receive wooden medals.

A 5-mile mostly-trail race around Restormel Castle and Lostwithiel with over 1000 ft of climbing, held as part of the Cornwall MTRS on 11 October 2026.
