The Amport Trail Run is organised by Muddy Runners on behalf of Amport Cricket Club at Amport Cricket Club, Monxton Road, Amport (SP11 8BA), near Andover. The event includes the following race options:
- 5k
- 10k
- Canicross
Entry is pre-registration only; there will be no entries on the day. Entry in advance closes Saturday 27th May. Age limits apply: the 10k is for participants aged 12 years and older; the 5k is for participants aged 7 years and older. All 5k entrants under 11 years must be accompanied on the route by a responsible adult who has their own entry. Runners with dogs start in a separate wave.
Course, rules and facilities
Both courses are multi-terrain, with a mixture of trail, tarmac, dirt and single tracks. Routes are undulating and cross private property. The course has a single road crossing for the 5k and 10k and will be marked with km markers, tape, signs and marshals. There are obstacles and varied underfoot conditions, including overhanging trees, mud, holes and ruts; appropriate footwear is advised. Headphones are allowed on most sections but must be removed when running across or alongside any road or when a marshal is visible.
Dogs are permitted but owners must hold public liability insurance, carry waste bags and water, and use appropriate harnesses and bungee leads. If the effective temperature is 18 degrees Celsius or higher, dogs will not be allowed to run. Toilets and first aid are provided; the event is cupless so participants should bring a cup or bottle.
