Clarendon Marathon 2026

The Clarendon Marathon will take place on 4 October 2026 as a charity event organised by the Rotary Clubs of Winchester and Salisbury. The route follows the ancient Clarendon Way from Salisbury to Winchester and is more than 90% off road, running on country tracks and paths that in places have changed little over centuries. Mile markers count down from the start in Salisbury to the finish in Winchester.

Distances offered:

  • Full marathon - 26.2 miles along the Clarendon Way
  • Half marathon - a shorter option covering roughly 13 miles
  • Mini - the final 5 miles of the course

Entry is all inclusive where scheduled, with buses provided, and each participant receives a complimentary t shirt and a medal on finishing plus a souvenir programme. The mini run departs from the middle of Farley Mount Country Park and includes a bus pass to the start; the mini is described as an informal run. A kiddies race is held around the grounds of Kings School for spectators with children.

The event began in 1998 and was transferred to Rotary management in 2012. Route resources include detailed maps, a 3D map, an ascent and descent graph, and a GPX file. Funds raised support a range of charities and nonprofit organisations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
