Run to the Sea Bournemouth is a 50 km point-to-point ultramarathon in Bournemouth on Saturday 3 October 2026. The route runs from Moors Valley Country Park to Hengistbury Head, following the Castleman Trailway for part of the way and then along the seafront into Bournemouth. The course includes forest trails and coastal paths and is described as flat and scenic.

Logistics and entries

The event has a 9.5-hour cut-off and a fully signed course with a GPS route file provided before race day. There are four feed stations at approximately 10 km intervals and an option to have personal food delivered to feed stations 3 and 4. Other included items are free predictive tracking, professional medical cover, a bespoke medal, finish goodies, and free downloadable photos. The race holds a UTMB index and is registered with ARC and TRA.

Early bird entry is priced at £70 until 31 December, with a regular entry fee of £75 from 1 January 2026; affiliated runners receive a £2 discount. The closing date for entries is 12 September unless the event sells out earlier. Optional extras available during registration include an event T-shirt (£15), a real-time tracking upgrade (£2), return bus transport from finish to start (£10), and a squashable silicone cup (£3). Kings Garn Gutter orienteering in the New Forest on Sunday 11 January offers runnable forest, streams and updated 1:10,000 maps. Courses range from short novice path events to long technical routes so all abilities can join.

Enjoy gravel trails through ancient woodland in the New Forest at Maverick New Forest Gravel on 17 January 2026. Choose from 22 km, 12 km or 6 km routes with scenic forests, wildlife and a friendly festival vibe.

Choose a half marathon or 10K through Moors Valley woodlands with muddy trails, steep climbs and chances to spot deer and birds of prey. Finishers get a wooden medal and the course is fully supported and timed.

Starburster is a twilight 5 or 10 mile run through Hurn Forest on 31 January, with out and back laps on firm forest trails beneath sunset skies. Head torches are required and 20% of entry fees support Forestry England for trail care.
