Black Nore 10km 2026

The Black Nore 10km is a coastal road and trail race organised by Portishead Running Club and based at Portishead Open Air Pool in the Lake Grounds, Portishead BS20 7HD. The route follows the North Somerset coastline, passes Black Nore Lighthouse and goes through Redcliffe Bay.

The course distance is 10 km and runs over mixed terrain including grass, mud, rocks and tarmac. The route is generally undulating with a sustained climb around the halfway point where a water station is located, a subsequent descent back toward the coast, a short climb near the sailing club and a fast finish along the seafront. Runners should expect uneven ground and potentially slippery sections in wet conditions.

Event services include chip-timed results, a finisher’s medal, a fully marked and marshalled course, a water station, medical support and an on-site café. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to the first male and female in each age category.

Entry is limited to 350 runners. On-the-day entries may be available subject to availability. Fees vary by affiliation status and booking period, with an early bird discount offered until 1 June. Minimum age is 16. Headphones are not permitted and the course is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or running with dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
