Mendip Marauder

Wells, United Kingdom • 8 Aug 2026

Event overview

The Mendip Marauder is a trail race held on Saturday 8 August 2026 on the Mendip Way in Somerset. There are two distances:

  • 30 miles
  • 50 miles

The route is hilly. Total ascent is about 4,161 ft for the 30 miler and 5,516 ft for the 50 miler. The 50 miler follows the East Mendip Way then joins the 30 mile route; the 30 miler takes in the entire West Mendip Way. The finish for both races is at Uphill Sands Beach, Weston-Super-Mare.

Course and logistics

Start locations are Wells for the 30 miler and Frome for the 50 miler. The course passes woodland, hilltops, valleys, Ebbor Gorge, Cheddar area, and coastal approaches into Weston-Super-Mare. Aid stations: the 30 miler has 3 and the 50 miler has 5. Aid stations provide water, coke, squash, sandwiches, crisps, fruit, nuts, sweets and other snacks. This is a cupless race so runners must carry at least one 500 ml water bottle and a cup if they want drink at aid stations.

The route is waymarked with tape and arrows for most sections; a GPX file and written notes are available as a backup. Professional medics will cover the race. Coach transport from the finish to the start is available for a small fee. Pacers are not permitted; a buddy runner is allowed later in the 50 miler. A very small drop bag to the finish is permitted. All finishers receive a medal; trophies are awarded to first male and first female. Participants must be 18 or over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
