Mendip Marauder
The Mendip Marauder is a trail running event held on Saturday 8 August 2026 on the Mendip Way in Somerset. It offers two distance options that use recognised sections of the Mendip Way and end at Uphill Sands Beach, Weston-Super-Mare. The route includes wooded sections, rolling countryside, hilltop viewpoints, and coastal finish terrain. Total elevation gain is listed as 5,516 ft for the 50 mile route and 4,161 ft for the 30 mile route.
- 30 mile route follows the West Mendip Way and passes through Wells, Ebbor Gorge and Priddy.
- 50 mile route follows the East Mendip Way before joining the 30 mile course and visits sites including Frome, Cheddar and Black Rock Nature Reserve.
Aid station provision differs by distance: the 30 mile has three stations and the 50 mile has five. The race is cupless so runners must carry at least one 500 ml water bottle and a cup if they want hot or fizzy drinks. Aid stations provide water, coke, squash, sandwiches, crisps, fruit, nuts and a range of snacks. Cut off times are eight hours for the 30 mile and 14 hours for the 50 mile; the 30 mile cutoff is noted as not being strictly enforced, while the 50 mile cutoff is enforced.
There is no mandatory kit list but suggested items include a waterproof jacket, headtorch, high visibility clothing, whistle, phone and spare water. Small drop bags to the finish are allowed. Coach transfer from the finish to the start is available for a small additional fee. Course markings are provided for most of the route and GPX or written notes are available as backup with the race information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
