DARTMOOR FULL CIRCLE 100

The Dartmoor Full Circle 100 is a continuous, non stop 100 mile race that follows the waymarked Dartmoor Way walking route and was the first complete circumnavigation of Dartmoor held as an official race event. The event takes place around the moor and is the only landlocked 100 mile race in South West England.

The route skirts the periphery of the northern and southern sections of the moor and passes well known landmarks, moorland villages, woodland and riverside trails, green lanes and quiet country lanes. The course includes over 4000 m of ascent and features rocky, tussocky and boggy terrain. Late autumn weather can be cold with rain or possibly snow, and the race includes a night section.

Competitors must visit six indoor checkpoints located in village or church halls. Checkpoints provide hot food and drink and are staffed by the event crew and local running clubs. The event uses GPS tracking for competitor monitoring, and GPX files are provided for navigation. A full compulsory race kit is required. The maximum time to complete the event is 34 hours. Finishers receive a bespoke finisher medal and there are trophies for first, second and third places by gender plus age category prizes. The 100 mile entry requires prior ultra experience including a minimum 50 mile finish within the specified qualification period. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
