Dartmoor Full Circle 100

The Dartmoor Full Circle 100 is an ultra-distance race that circumnavigates Dartmoor by following the waymarked Dartmoor Way. The route skirts the periphery of the northern and southern moor, linking woodland and riverside trails, green lanes, quiet country lanes and open moorland. The course visits many moorland villages and established landmarks and crosses varied terrain including rocky, tussocky and boggy sections.

The event is a continuous non-stop race with six indoor, manned checkpoints offering hot food and refreshments. Competitors are monitored by GPS trackers for safety. The organiser states over 4000 m of ascent on the full route, a maximum time allowance of 34 hours and a night section. Weather in late autumn can be unpredictable and may include rain, cold or snow.

Entry requirements and support: the 100 mile event is for experienced ultra runners only and requires a qualifying 50 mile finish within specified dates. Competitors must be able to navigate using provided maps, GPX files or GPS and must carry compulsory kit including waterproofs, headtorch, food and fluid capacity. Drop bags (up to 10 litre) can be handed in for midway transfer. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and trophies are awarded to top finishers and age categories.
