The event is a multi terrain running event based at Stover School in Newton Abbot. The main race is a ten mile course that starts and finishes on the school grounds. The course is reported to be 90% off road and passes through Stover Country Park and the fields at Teigngrace.

Runners must reach the half way point (5 miles) within 70 minutes or they will be asked to withdraw; transport back to the start is provided for those withdrawn. Dogs are not permitted on site at Stover School. For safety, the use of music headphones or earphones of any kind is prohibited and will lead to disqualification if ignored.

The race is part of the Instep race series and holds an Association of Running Clubs permit (ARC/26/0363). Entry is limited to 325 places; transfers are accepted only on the day with an administration charge of £3 per transfer.
