Duchy an Dinas 5

Duchy an Dinas 5 returns for its third year as part of the Cornwall MTRS. The event is a 5 mile mixed terrain race that starts and finishes at the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery in Lostwithiel. The route is approximately 90% trail and includes more than 1000 ft of elevation gain.

The course begins with a quick descent into the valley and passes through valley terrain up to the English Heritage site of Restormel Castle, where participants complete a loop around the castle and can view the surrounding landscape. From the castle the route drops into Restormel woods, loops out toward the town of Lostwithiel, crosses the valley and the River Fowey, then returns to the nursery.

At the nursery participants run a loop through private woods used only for this event before finishing at the Woodland Terrace Tepee. Parking is limited and organisers request car sharing. The event awards prizes for the top three male and top three female finishers, age category prizes and some spot prizes. All finishers receive a medal. The minimum age is 18 and there is a two hour cutoff. A percentage of entry fees will be donated to Mind Cornwall. The event is cupless and there is no bag drop.
