Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra : event overview

The Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra is a timed endurance event held from 29 to 30 August 2026. The format requires each participant to run a circuit of 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour. Each circuit must be completed in less than 60 minutes; any remaining time within the hour is typically used for rest and preparation for the next circuit.

Participants continue to run hourly circuits until only one runner remains. That final runner is the event winner. Past editions have included runners reaching first half marathon, first marathon, first 100 kilometer and first 100 mile distances.
