Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra
The Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra is an endurance event held on 29 to 30 August 2026. The format requires each participant to run a loop of 4.167 miles every hour, starting on the hour, and to complete as many laps as they can. Each circuit must be finished within 60 minutes; any remaining time within the hour is typically used for rest or recovery before the next lap. Runners continue hourly circuits until only one runner remains; that runner is declared the winner.
Entries open on 15 October 2025 and close on 27 August 2026. The minimum age to enter is 18. The stated entry fee is £95. Camping is included with entry and is available from 29 August until 31 August or until the event finishes. Participants who enter from 30 July will receive a T shirt, though specific sizes cannot be guaranteed.
Organisers note accessible facilities on site, including an accessible toilet and sanitary bins that are stoma friendly. A complimentary hair plaiting service is offered, with donations to the charity welcomed. All entry income is directed to supporting people affected by bowel cancer and to fund related research and training.
