Devon and Cornwall Mini Backyard Ultra
The Devon and Cornwall Mini Backyard Ultra takes place at Newnham Park, Plympton, Devon on 27 August 2027. It is a short-format event held before the main Backyard Ultra and intended to give support crews, family, friends and the general public a chance to take part.
Participants choose to run one or two laps on the evening. Each lap is 4 mile long. The event allows entries with a dog and includes a crew challenge. The minimum age for entry is 16 or older.
Entry fees listed for the event are:
- Mini Backyard one or two laps choose on the day £12.50
- Crew Challenge £12.50
- Mini Backyard with Doggy friend £12.50
Prizes or recognitions mentioned include overall winner, first crew across the line, best dressed and overall doggy. Entries open on 11 September 2026 and close on 26 August 2027. All money raised will go to supporting the work of Bowel Cancer West.
The format is described as low pressure; if a runner does not return in time for the end of the first lap they are allowed to continue onto a second lap.
