Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra

Plymouth, United Kingdom • 29-30 Aug 2026

Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra

The event is a Backyard Ultra in which participants run a loop of 4.167 miles every hour and complete as many laps as they can. Each circuit must be finished in less than 60 minutes, with any remaining time within the hour used for rest and preparation for the next circuit. Runners continue completing hourly circuits until only one runner remains.

The event is scheduled across Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026. Camping is included in the entry and is available from Friday 29 August until Sunday 31 August or until the event finishes.

Entries open on 15 October 2025 and close on 27 August 2026. The event has a minimum age of 18 and an entry fee of £95. Entry is managed through SiEntries and requires a user account.

The format has produced long distance milestones for some participants, including first half marathons, first marathons, first 100k efforts and first 100 mile completions for others. The current recorded number of laps completed at this event is 30.

Event facilities include an accessible toilet and sanitary bins that are stoma friendly. A free hair plaiting service is offered during the event; donations to the organising charity are welcomed. All entry revenue is used to support people living with bowel cancer and to fund related research and training. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
