Quantock Hills Trail Half Marathon
The Quantock Hills Trail Half Marathon is a trail running event held in Somerset, starting and finishing at Kilve Court. The course covers a half marathon distance and includes a variety of terrain such as technical trails through forests, quiet country lanes, and open moorland. This event is officially recognized as a UTMB index race.
The route features several natural and structural obstacles, including stiles, gates, and uneven rugged terrain. Participants should expect stream crossings that may involve using stepping stones or log balances. To support runners during the race, the organizer provides two fully stocked feed stations and clear signage throughout the course.
Accommodation options are available on-site for those wishing to stay over the weekend, including camping, van parking, and basic bunkhouses. Social activities such as a pizza service and a fire pit are organized for the Saturday evening prior to the race. Local pubs are also located near the event site.
All finishers receive a medal upon completion of the course. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three male and female runners. The event is open to participants who are at least 18 years old on the day of the race.
The route was developed in cooperation with the Quantocks AONB service, Natural England, and The National Trust to highlight the natural landscape of the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
