The Course

Both routes follow a section of the Cambrian Way, ending in Cardiff. The 44-mile ultra starts at Llanthony Priory in the Black Mountains. The 33-mile ultra starts in Abergavenny. The route passes through mountains, wooded vales, and historic towns such as Pontypool and Risca. Near the finish in Cardiff, runners pass Castle Coch. The course for the 33-mile distance includes a significant early climb up the Blorenge.
