Ultra X Wales is a multi-distance trail running event in the hills around Abergavenny in the Brecon Beacons on 25-26 July 2026. The event offers six race options:

  • 110 km (single stage)
  • 110 km (two-stage)
  • 60 km
  • 50 km
  • 25 km
  • 12 km

Ultra X Wales’ races are UTMB® Index Races in the 100k, 50k and 20k categories respectively. Fully stocked aid stations are placed at approximately every 10 km along the courses. Cut-offs are described as relaxed, with an average allowance of about 2 hours 30 minutes to complete each 10 km section.

Practical information

Participants can camp at Llangorse Activity Centre outside Abergavenny on the Friday and Saturday nights. A full Race Pack with detailed information and cut-offs will be emailed to all registered participants about one month before the event. Under-23s may participate for free across all race distances. The event package includes race entry, fully marked courses, medical support throughout, drinking water and snacks at checkpoints, ground assistance and safety support, and a finisher’s medal. The organiser also offers GPS tracking for the 110 km option and has provisions for campsite hot water for preparing food. The event forms part of a Great British Slam award for those who finish Ultra X Scotland, Wales and England in the same calendar year at ultra distances. Trail runs nearby
