The Loop Ultra
The Loop Ultra is a trail running event held in the remote Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales. The course covers a distance of 32 miles (50 km) with a total elevation gain of 4862 feet. The route is fully marked and follows a variety of terrain, including forest tracks, ancient paths, and trails that skirt the Glyndwr Way. Participants pass through natural landscapes toward Lake Vrynwy, with views extending toward the Shropshire Hills and southern Snowdonia.
The event is based at Camp Plas, a nature retreat and working farmstead located near the village of Dolanog. Registration is capped at 100 runners to maintain the sustainable nature of the wild location. The course has a generous cut-off time of 14 hours, and the event is supported by back runners, rangers, and a full medical team.
