The Brutal Extreme Triathlon is scheduled for 20 September 2025 in Llanberis, North Wales. The event starts at Llyn Padarn and offers multiple distance options. Entrants may compete solo or as a relay team of 2–4 members. Relay teams must change the timing chip in the main HQ marquee and the mountain runner must have support for Double distances.

  • Mawr (Full): 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, 3 lake laps + Yr Wyddfa
  • Cawr (Double): Ultra double distance, multiple laps as per info pack
  • Triple: Ultra triple distance, multiple laps as per info pack

The swim is in Llyn Padarn (Parc Padarn); a swim lap is about 1.25 km and water temperature is likely 16–18 °C. The bike uses a 28-mile open-road lap with a steep climb over Pen y Pass and a fast descent; laps vary by distance. The lake lap run is 5 miles; the mountain section follows the Llanberis Path and is about 9 miles up and down. Half and Full athletes do the mountain after lake laps; Double and Triple complete the mountain before lake laps. Cut-offs are specified per distance (Bach/Half total 12 hours, Full total 21 hours, Double total 42 hours). Mandatory kit items and safety rules are listed in the info pack; a hi-viz vest must be worn on the bike, helmets are required, drafting and MP3 players are prohibited. Support crews are required for Double races. Aid stations are on the bike (mile 14), on the run (about 2.5 miles) and at HQ.
