The Greensand Way Ultra Run takes place on Saturday 2 May 2026 and starts and finishes at West Hanger, Staple Lane, Guildford, Surrey. The route distance is 30 miles. The entry cost is £45 per person. The event is organised as a guided, non-competitive group run and is described as suitable for first time ultra runners.

Route and logistics

The route follows sections of the North Downs Way and the Greensand Way. The course passes Box Hill, then heads south to join the Greensand Way and continues west. Key climbs on the route include Leith Hill, Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill, with later sections running north toward Shere and back to West Hanger. A free car park is available at the start and the meeting point is a short run or taxi ride from a nearby train station.

Pace, kit and other information

The run is led by an experienced trail and ultra runner who will manage the route for the group. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be comfortable running at roughly a 10 minute per mile pace for prolonged periods on trail.
