Greensand Way Ultra Run

Guildford, United Kingdom • 2 May 2026

Greensand Way Ultra Run

This is a guided trail run of 30 miles starting and finishing at West Hanger, near Guildford. The route uses sections of the North Downs Way and the Greensand Way, beginning by following the North Downs Way past Box Hill, then heading south to join the Greensand Way and proceeding west. Key climbs on the route include Leith Hill, Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill, with the final section running north toward Shere and back to the start.

The event is run as a group rather than a race. An experienced ultra runner and coach will lead the group, manage the route and offer advice during the day. Participants should have run at least 22 miles in training and be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre on trail for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided to participants.

Logistics include a free car park at the start and a short run or taxi ride from a nearby train station. The entry cost is £45 per person. At the finish there may be an alcohol free beer supplied by Athletic Brewing Company subject to availability. Further event information and detailed instructions are provided to participants in the days before the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
