Greensand Way Ultra Run
Guildford, United Kingdom • 2 May 2026
Event overview
The Greensand Way Ultra Run is a guided trail run starting and finishing at West Hanger, Staple Lane, near Guildford, Surrey. The route covers 30 miles and is led by an experienced ultra runner and coach. The event is organised as a group run rather than a race. Entry cost is listed as £45 per person. A full kit list will be provided to participants. An alcohol-free beer may be provided at the finish, subject to availability.
Route and logistics
The route uses sections of the North Downs Way and the Greensand Way. The course passes Box Hill, then heads south onto the Greensand Way and west along that trail. The route includes the ascent of Leith Hill, the highest point in the South East of England, and visits summits such as Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill before returning north toward Shere and the start location. Organisers advise participants to have run at least 22 miles in training and to be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 min/mile (6 min/km) on trail for prolonged periods. There is a free car park at the start/finish point, and a train station is a short run or taxi ride away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
