Event Overview

The Greensand Way Ultra Run is a guided group trail running event starting and finishing at the West Hanger, Staple Lane Car Park near Guildford. This event is not a competitive race; instead, participants run together as a group in a shared environment led by an experienced trail running coach. The route covers a total distance of 30 miles.

Course Details

The course utilizes sections of both the North Downs Way and the Greensand Way. Participants begin by following the North Downs Way toward Box Hill before turning south to join the Greensand Way. The route includes several summits that provide views to the south, including:

  • Leith Hill (the highest point in South East England)
  • Holmbury Hill
  • Pitch Hill

After crossing these summits, the path heads north toward Shere to return to the starting location at West Hanger.

Participation Requirements

All entrants must be at least 18 years old. The organizer recommends that participants have completed at least 22 miles in training prior to the event. Runners should be capable of maintaining an average pace of approximately 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per kilometer) on trails for prolonged periods.
