Run Silchester 2026

Run Silchester is an annual running event held in the village of Silchester, organised by the Run Silchester committee on behalf of the Silchester Sports Pavilion Charity. The route starts on the Silchester playing field, follows the English Heritage Roman wall that enclosed the former town of Calleva Atrebatum, passes the 12th-century St Mary-the-Virgin church, and runs through natural woodland before finishing at the Silchester Sports Pavilion.

The event offers three trail distances:

  • Silchester Fun Run - 2.5 Miles Trail Run
  • Silchester 5 - 5 Miles Trail Run
  • Silchester 7 - 7 Miles Trail Run

Facilities and services include managed car parking, water stations (at 1.8 miles for all races and at 4.8 miles for the 7-mile race), water at the finish, chip timing with results published online shortly after the event, and event photography with images published online and removed on request.

There are new medal designs for finishers, refreshments such as water and a banana at the finish, and trophies awarded across age and veteran categories, including a fastest villager prize for the 5-mile race. The event supports the Tadley Community Food Pantry and encourages donations at the Sports Pavilion collection point.

Entries are available online until midnight on 30 April and in person on the day; online and on-the-day prices differ. If the event is cancelled, organisers will try to re-organise later in the year but refunds will not be offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
