Run Silchester 2026

Run Silchester takes place on 2 May 2026 in Silchester, Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. The event is organised by the Run Silchester committee on behalf of the Silchester Sports Pavilion Charity. It starts on the Silchester playing field and finishes at the Silchester Sports Pavilion. The route follows the English Heritage Roman wall of Calleva Atrebatum, passes the 12th century St Mary-the-Virgin church, and includes trails through ancient natural woodland.

Races, services and logistics

• 2.5 miles - Silchester Fun Run (trail)
• 5 miles - Silchester 5 (trail)
• 7 miles - Silchester 7 (trail)

Entries are available online up until midnight on Thursday 30 April and in person on the day. Online and on-the-day prices are listed separately for adults and children for each race (examples: Fun Run adults online £12, on the day £25; Silchester 5 adults online £22, on the day £40). Managed car parking will be in operation.

There is a water station at 1.8 miles for all events and at 4.8 miles for the 7-mile race; water is also available at the finish. All finishers receive water and a banana and new medal designs will be awarded. Chip timing will provide running times and results will be published online shortly after the event. Photographers will be present and published images can be requested for removal. If the event is cancelled, organisers will try to re-schedule later in the year but refunds will not be offered.
