Run Silchester 2026 : Overview

Run Silchester takes place on 2 May 2026 in Silchester, Reading, Berkshire. The event is organised by the Run Silchester committee on behalf of the Silchester Sports Pavilion Charity. The event supports the Tadley Community Food Pantry and the charity aims to promote participation in healthy recreation, volunteer involvement, and the development and maintenance of local sporting facilities.

Races start on the Silchester playing field and follow trails that run along the English Heritage Roman Wall, pass the 12th century St Mary-the-Virgin church, and go through ancient woodland before finishing at the Sports Pavilion. The 5- and 7-mile events are multi-terrain trail courses; the 7-mile course is described as more technical with additional elevation. There is a water station at 1.8 miles for all events and an additional water station at 4.8 miles for the 7-mile race. Water is also available at the finish.

Logistics, entries and awards

The event features food stalls, a bar, a children’s fun zone, music and a village market on the playing fields. Managed car parking will be in operation. Entries are available online until midnight on Thursday 30 April and in person on the day. Chip timing is used and results are published online shortly after the event. New medals will be awarded to finishers; water and a banana are provided at the finish. Trophies are allocated across age and veteran categories and a fastest villager award is included.
