Run Silchester is an annual running event organised by the Run Silchester committee on behalf of the Silchester Sports Pavilion Charity. It takes place on 2 May 2026 in Silchester, Reading, Berkshire.

The course starts on the Silchester playing field, follows the English Heritage Roman wall that once enclosed the town of Calleva Atrebatum, passes the 12th century St Mary the Virgin church, and continues through trails in ancient natural woodland before finishing at the Silchester Sports Pavilion. The route includes mixed terrain and trail sections.

Distances offered:

  • 2.5 Mile Fun Run for children, families and casual runners.
  • 5 Mile Silchester 5 multi terrain trail run.
  • 7 Mile Silchester 7 technical trail run with increased elevation.

Event services and features include food stalls, a bar, a children’s fun zone, music and the Silchester Village Market on the playing fields. Managed car parking is provided. There is a water station at 1.8 miles for all races and an additional station at 4.8 miles for the 7 Mile race; water is also available at the finish. New medals, a water and banana for finishers, and trophies for multiple age and category winners are mentioned. Chip timing is used and results will be published online. The event supports the Tadley Community Food Pantry with a collection point at the Sports Pavilion. Entries are available online until midnight on 30 April and in person on the day.
