Winchester, United Kingdom • 26 Apr 2026

Event details

The Drop - Winchester takes place on 26/04/2026 at Cadence at The Handlebar Cafe - Garnier Road Car Park, Winchester SO23 9PA. Participants choose between these distance options:

  • 15-mile
  • 10-mile Entries may be solo or as part of a team. Distances are measured as the crow flies; the actual route back to the event centre may be longer.

Format and rules

At registration participants hand over electronic devices and receive a race number and a sealed emergency bag. Participants board a bus, wear a blackout blindfold or an approved alternative, and are taken to an undisclosed drop-off location. From there each person or team must return to the event centre using no external navigation aids provided by themselves. The event specifies: no map, no GPS, no route, no help, no compass. Breaking the seal on the emergency bag or using unauthorised maps results in disqualification. Participants may run, walk, or crawl.

Safety, tracking and logistics

Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional, paid feature and is not included in the entry fee. Trackers are reported to be accurate within 5 metres, must be placed for a clear view of the sky, and must be returned after the event or a £175 replacement fee applies. There is no parking at the venue; parking is available in the town centre. The nearest railway station is a 10 minute walk and the bus station is 5 minutes from event HQ.
