Andover Trail Marathon

The Andover Trail event offers two waymarked off-road races in North Hampshire, featuring sustained climbs with a maximum elevation of 280 m and long downhill sections with views over meadows and valleys.

Distances:

  • 26.2 miles Marathon via the Testway to Coombe Gibbet and back through the Conholt estate.
  • 13.1 miles Half Marathon loop via the Testway to Hurstbourne Tarrant and returning to Enham.

Course preparation includes full marking the day before the event. Marshals manage major road crossings and full medical support is provided along the route. The marathon has three staffed aid stations; the half marathon has a well-stocked halfway aid station. The event is chip timed and awards finisher medals to all finishers, with prizes for first, second and third male and female finishers.

There is a Military Cup category for serving military personnel only. Units may enter teams of up to four runners; a unit may enter multiple teams. Teams compete in the half marathon with the unit holding the fastest accumulated time declared the winner.

A 50 mile point to point ultramarathon along the North Downs Way with 5,600 ft of ascent, six aid stations and a 13 hour cut off. The route is mostly trail and requires specific qualifying and mandatory kit.

The Twenty Sixth Compton Downland Challenge in Compton, Berkshire on 16 May 2026 features a full marathon and a 16 mile race with a seven hour time limit; route maps, elevation profiles and videos are provided.

An off road 10 km trail run around Barbury Castle near Wroughton, with tracks, hills and ridge top views. The event raises funds for the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity and is currently full with a waiting list.
