North Downs Way 100
The North Downs Way 100 is a 103 mile continuous trail race that follows the North Downs Way footpath from Farnham in the Surrey Hills to Ashford in Kent. The route records approximately 11,000 feet of elevation gain and is run with a 30 hour overall cut off. Terrain is a mix of trail and road, with about 80% trail and 20% road.
The course passes through villages and notable points including Puttenham, Guildford, Ranmore Common, Box Hill, Reigate Hill, Oxted, Knockholt Pound (the 50 mile point), Detling, Hollingbourne, Harrietsham, Charing and finishes at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford. The route is marked by national trail posts plus event tape and arrows, though runners are responsible for navigation.
The event provides a minimum of 12 fully stocked aid stations offering a range of drinks, gels and food including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options; hot drinks and hot food are available at some later stations and at the finish. Medical cover is provided throughout the weekend, including ambulances and static aid at major stations.
Entries are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. A qualifying standard applies: completion of a 50 mile race within 15 hours in the specified qualifying period.
