Dartmoor Granite 50

Scorriton, United Kingdom • 3 Oct 2026

Event overview

The Dartmoor Way events consist of two supported trail races that follow the waymarked Dartmoor Way walking route around and across Dartmoor National Park. Distances offered:

  • 100 miles (Dartmoor Full Circle 100)
  • 51 miles (Dartmoor Granite 50)

The 100-mile route circumnavigates the periphery of the moor and visits villages and moorland landmarks. The 51-mile race follows the eastern section of the full route from Scorriton to Okehampton. Terrain includes leafy woodland glades, riverside trails, green lanes, quiet country lanes and sections of open moorland. The Full Circle 100 has over 4000 m of ascent; the Granite 50 has over 2000 m of ascent. GPX files and maps are provided.

Route, support and requirements

The Full Circle 100 has six indoor, manned checkpoints at: Peter Tavy (15.5 miles), Yelverton (30 miles), Cornwood (42 miles), Buckfast (64 miles), Manaton (82 miles) and Chagford (95 miles), with the finish at the OCRA Pavilion, Okehampton (route total listed as 106 miles). The Granite 50 includes three full checkpoints and an additional water stop along its 51-mile course.

Both events provide on-course food and drink, GPS tracking for competitors, drop-bag transport (10 litre limit), medical cover, changing and shower facilities, and finishers medals and trophies. Compulsory kit is inspected at registration and includes full waterproof body cover, headtorch and spare batteries, minimum 1 litre fluid capacity, 500 kcal emergency food, emergency foil blanket, warm hat, gloves, plastic cup and a mobile phone. Entries require proof of qualifying experience: a trail marathon for the 50-mile event and a minimum 50-mile finish within specified dates for the 100-mile event.
