Event Overview

The Dartmoor Granite 50 is a 50-mile trail race (approximately 51 miles) taking place on October 3, 2026. It is held simultaneously with the Dartmoor Full Circle 100 event and is in its fifth year. Participants have a maximum time allowance of 15 hours to complete the course.

Course Description

The route starts in Scorriton, near Buckfastleigh, and finishes at the OCRA Pavilion in Okehampton. It follows the Dartmoor Way Walking Route, skirting the eastern section of Dartmoor and crossing several sections of open moorland. The course passes through or near Ashburton, Haytor, Manaton, and Chagford. It involves over 2000 metres of ascent over rugged terrain.

Participant Requirements

Entrants must be at least 21 years old. A prerequisite is the completion of a trail marathon between October 1, 2024, and August 31, 2026. Runners must also have, or intend to gain, experience in night navigation.

Event Information

The race features three full checkpoints providing hot food and drinks. All runners are provided with GPS trackers, and a GPX file of the route is available for download. Facilities at the finish in Okehampton include changing rooms, showers, a bar, and hot meals available throughout the weekend. Parking is free at the event centre. Bespoke trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third male and female finishers. A paid bus transfer from Okehampton to the start line is available. Join the Polruan Shuffle on 14 March 2026, a scenic 12 mile coastal point to point from East Looe to Polruan along Cornwall's cliffs. Expect hills, steps, a feed at Talland Bay, live GPS tracking and finisher medals.

Tough paired trail run across Dartmoor from the East Dart Inn in Postbridge, covering about 21 km with rugged climbs and sweeping moorland views. The third race in the Winter Pairs series, it is limited to 35 pairs and is pre entry only.

A Dartmoor fell racing day on 21 March 2026 that pairs the Okement Loop with the Devon AA county championships. The senior course is 14.3 km with 750 m ascent and mandatory kit; multiple junior races and county selection take place.

A self-navigated 50 km east-to-west Dartmoor traverse with GPX files and live GPS tracking, checkpoints that double as feed stations, 1,389 m ascent and a 10-hour cut off, finishing at Tavistock Stannary Brewing Company.
