The Dartmoor Granite 50 is a 50-mile trail event. It takes place on Saturday, 3rd October 2026. The event runs simultaneously alongside the Dartmoor Full Circle 100.

Route

The route begins at Scorriton Village Hall, near Buckfastleigh, on the southern edge of Dartmoor. It follows the Dartmoor Way Walking Route, heading east towards Ashburton, Haytor, Manaton, and Chagford, before finishing in Okehampton. The course skims the eastern section of the moor and crosses several areas of open moorland. It covers approximately 51 miles with over 2000 meters of ascent.

Requirements and Facilities

The event has a maximum time allowance of 15 hours, starting at 7:00 AM. Entrants must be 21 years or older on the event date. A minimum requirement for entry is experience of running a trail marathon, which must have been completed between 1st October 2024 and 31st August 2026. Competitors are also expected to have or intend to gain night navigational skills.

There are three full checkpoints offering hot food and drinks. GPS trackers are provided, and a GPX file of the route is available for download. Facilities include changing rooms and showers, a bar, and hot meals available throughout the weekend at the event headquarters in Okehampton. Free parking is available at the event centre. A night trail event near South Brent with two courses, 9 miles across Dartmoor and 5 miles on local roads and paths. The route is marked but a route device is recommended, with catering, live music and a shared sauna after the run.

A fully supported winter challenge across Dartmoor offering 50 km and 30 km routes from south to north. The route crosses remote open moor with unmarked sections and on-course guides, maps and GPX support are provided.

Pair up for a winter challenge across Dartmoor's Eastern Tors, starting from the Rugglestone Inn in Widecombe. This demanding 11 miles route with 830 meters of climb needs teams, required kit and pre entry for a small, limited field.

This Dartmoor trail event features three challenging distances, all climbing the Hameldown Ridge twice. It includes a new ultra, a half marathon, and an 8-mile race. Courses offer rugged terrain and expansive moorland views.
