Dartmoor Way events (October 2026)
Two supported trail races take place around Dartmoor in October 2026. The Dartmoor Full Circle 100 is a continuous non-stop circumnavigation of the moor, described as a long-distance route of roughly 100 miles. The Dartmoor Granite 50 follows the eastern section of the Moor and is described as about 50 miles in length. Both events run on marked sections of the Dartmoor Way walking route and include woodland trails, riverside paths, green lanes and open moorland.
- ~100 miles - Full Circle 100, circumnavigation of Dartmoor with six indoor checkpoints.
- ~50 miles - Granite 50, eastern section with three indoor checkpoints and an extra water stop.
Course, support and entry requirements
The Full Circle 100 lists six indoor checkpoints along the route and a finish at OCRA Pavilion, Okehampton. The Granite 50 has three checkpoints and finishes in Okehampton. The Full Circle carries over 4,000 m of ascent and the Granite event over 2,000 m of ascent. Both races provide hot food and refreshments at checkpoints, GPS tracking for competitor safety, GPX files of the route, changing and shower facilities, medical support and event parking.
Entry standards are required. Granite 50 entrants must have completed a trail marathon within a specified recent period and have or be gaining night navigation skills. Full Circle 100 entrants must have prior ultra experience, including a 50-mile qualifier in the required window. Mandatory kit is inspected at registration and includes waterproof jacket and over-trousers, headtorch, minimum 1 litre fluid capacity, emergency food (500 kcal), emergency foil blanket and a mobile phone.
