DARTMOOR GRANITE 50

DARTMOOR GRANITE 50 is a long distance trail race of around 50 miles run alongside the DARTMOOR FULL CIRCLE 100 event. The course skirts the eastern section of Dartmoor and crosses several areas of open moorland.

The route begins in Scorriton near Buckfastleigh on the south side of the Moor and follows the Dartmoor Way walking route east toward Ashburton, Haytor, Manaton and Chagford, finishing in Okehampton at the OCRA Pavilion on Mill Road.

The course includes over 2000 metres of ascent and features varied terrain, including some rugged sections. There is a maximum time allowance of 15 hours. Three full checkpoints provide hot food, drinks and refreshments along the route.

Entry requirements include a minimum age of 21 and completion of a trail marathon between 1 October 2024 and 31 August 2026. Competitors must have, or be preparing to gain, night navigation experience for the final hours of the event.

Support and facilities listed for the event include downloadable GPX files, GPS trackers for competitors, professional medical cover, changing and shower facilities, free parking at the event centre, bar and hot meals throughout the weekend, a bespoke finishers medal and trophies for first, second and third male and female finishers. A multi-distance coastal event on Mount Edgcumbe peninsula using a roughly 10.6K loop repeated for half and full marathons. Options include 10K, canicross and kids races plus chip timing and finishers medals.

An eight hour timed challenge on a 5.3 km out and back route along an old disused train line near Bridestowe. Turn up within a morning to early-afternoon window and complete as many laps as allowed to earn a medal.

A circular mixed terrain event around Exeter with a 14.2 mile Green Circle half marathon and a 9 mile Yellow Zone option. Both races start together and the course passes valleys and parks along the River Exe.

An eight mile trail on the South West Coast Path around Goodrington with coastal and woodland sections, Race HQ at Youngs Park, and a three hour cut off; finishers receive a bespoke medal and a treat.
