On 27 September 2026 the Floors Castle Trail Race offers 10km, 5km and a Junior 3km through the castle grounds and woodlands, with a race village on the main lawn and a finish line in front of Floors Castle.

The District BYU is a Backyard Ultra in an undisclosed Lake District setting with a 4.167 mile loop run each hour until one runner remains. Camping is included and the event is self supported with basic aid station provision.

A four leg fell running relay in the Lake District for teams of eight, featuring steep climbs, navigation only and specific team categories. Entry is limited and an entry fee applies.

Mud Madness at Chatelherault Country Park on 4 October 2026 offers a 1 km kids course and a 5 km family mud run with obstacles, water hazards and staggered waves, plus on-site parking, registration t-shirts and finishers' medals.

Trail event at Dodd Wood on 4 October 2026 with fully marked 8K and 5K options, chip timing, and space for dogs on individual starts. Two dogs per runner are allowed on wider sections and all dogs must wear a suitable harness.

A 70 km circular mixed terrain ultra in and around historic Stirling, offered as solo entries or team relays of three or six, with aid stations, GPS live tracking and an overall 14 hour cut off.

The Aberfoyle Festival of Trail Running will take place in Aberfoyle on Saturday 10 October 2026. You can run between 21 and 63 kilometers.

A 13.5 mile trail half marathon from Housesteads Roman Fort to Tyne Green Country Park in Hexham. The A B route features shuttle transport, staggered group starts, live chip timing and onsite bag drop, and supports a local children's charit..

A 7 hour timed trail event in Durham on 11 October 2026 with flexible lap-based distances, Scare Bear themed medals from 3 km, and aid stations plus goody bags including a vegan option.

A 7 hour timed trail event on a loop beside the River Wear in Durham where runners choose their distance from 3 km upwards. Finishers receive themed medals, goody bags and distance pins for longer achievements.

A charity 10 km trail run at Eglinton Park on 11 October 2026 supporting local mental health charity Release Ayrshire. The marked course has marshals and a donation bucket and finishers receive a medal and home baking.

The Up and Running Events - Chatelherault Country Park will take place in Ferniegair on Saturday 17 October 2026. You can run between 6 and 20 kilometers.

Two trail races from Shotley Bridge, County Durham, with a **25 km** course and a **53 km** ultra that passes reservoirs, moorland and woods. The 53 km route has three feed stations, mandatory safety kit and live chip timing.

A Halloween-themed fun run at Thorpe Farm Centre on 18th October with adult and child distances, a costume contest and finish-line refreshments. A £2 entry fee on the door supports the Upper Teesdale Agricultural Suport Service.

An eight-hour looped trail event at Tentsmuir Forest where runners complete 4.366 mile laps to accumulate distance. Laps are timed by wrist tags; 3 laps equal a half marathon, 6 a full marathon and 7 or more an ultramarathon.
