Lakeland Paws: Dogs@ Dodd

This event takes place in Dodd Wood and uses fully marked routes over forest roads and trails. The course climbs and then contours around the summit of Dodd, with downhill sections that offer views across nearby lakes to the Coledale Fells. Much of the route runs on wide trails, but there are some narrower sections and a relatively steep final descent.

There are two route options:

  • 8K loop with about 370 m of ascent.
  • 5K route with about 210 m of ascent.

Dogs are welcome; runners may run with up to two dogs on the wider sections, but some parts are narrow and the final descent requires caution. All dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners may also take part without dogs.

The event is part of the Lakeland Paws series and is in its fifth season, with a series of nine events this season. The event is chip timed and marked, and GPX files are available for download. The minimum entry age is 16 and the published entry fee is £20. Additional event terms, cancellation and entry details are provided by the organiser.
