Lakeland Paws: Dogs@ Dodd

Lakeland Paws: Dogs@ Dodd is an off-road running event held at Dodd Wood on 4 October 2026. The event is part of the Lakeland Paws series and is run by Green Space Events Ltd in its fifth season; the series comprises nine events and follows a consistent format with individual starts for each athlete so dogs have space at the start.

The course mixes forest roads and trails, climbs and then contours around the summit of Dodd, and offers views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Coledale Fells. Most of the route uses wide trails, but there are some narrower sections and a relatively steep final descent. The event is chip timed and fully marked; GPX files are available.

Distances:

  • 8K loop with 370 m of ascent
  • 5K route with 210 m of ascent

Two dogs per runner are permitted on the majority of the course, though some sections are narrower; all dogs must run on a suitable harness. Runners may also compete without dogs. Minimum age for entry is 16 or older. Entry fee is £20. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 3 October 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
