Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme takes place on 18 July 2026 around the Helvellyn massif, with a course start/finish in the Patterdale area of the English Lake District. The route is approximately 28 km long with about 2700 m of ascent and includes technical ground, hands-on rock sections and scrambling. The course is a designated sky race and is fully marked.
Included with the entry fee are GPS tracking and timing, a professional safety officer with a mountain-qualified safety team, a post-race meal with vegan, gluten-free and meat options, and a compostable finisher medal. Optional purchases for entrants include a race tee, branded goat-bells for support crews, and a post-race massage. The published entry fee is £130.
Entry is by pre-selection. Applicants must be at least 19 years old on race day and must provide details of mountain running, race and scrambling experience for review. Required experience includes completion in the past five years of several mountain races or runs of about 18 miles / 30 km or more and of comparable severity; listed examples include Ennerdale Horseshoe, Keswick Mountain Festival 50 km, V3K, Glencoe Skyline, Lakes in a Day and Tour de Helvellyn. Significant mountain challenges and rounds may also be considered. Significant rock climbing or high-grade solo scrambling experience is a mandatory requirement.
