The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is scheduled for 18 July 2026 in Patterdale, in the Helvellyn Massif of the Lake District. The course is 28 km with 2700 m ascent and includes technical skyrunning terrain: long runnable ascents through the Glenridding Mines, technical singletrack, scree descents, knife-edge ridgelines and five graded scrambles on route. The course will be fully marked and timed with GPS tracking and timing provided by Open Tracking. A professional Safety Officer and a mountain-qualified safety team will support the event. The entry fee is shown as £120, rising to £130 from 01/04/2026. The event includes a post-race meal and a compostable finisher’s medal. Optional paid extras are available such as a race tee (£30), goat-bells (£25) and post-race massage (£25).

Entry and requirements

Entries use a pre-selection process. Competitors must be at least 19 years old on race day. Applicants must detail recent mountain running and scrambling experience for review. Required evidence can include completion of several mountain races or runs of about 30 km or more in the past five years, significant mountain challenges or significant rock climbing experience (for example graded solo scrambling, lead climbing or winter climbing). Take on Orrest Sun Up in Windermere on Sun 21 Dec 2025, a bracing one mile climb to Orrest Head with stunning Lake District views. Entry on the day from The Phoenix Centre is £5 with donations supporting local community charities.
