The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a skyrunning race organised by Lake District Sky Trails in Patterdale on 18 July 2026. The route is 28 km long with 2700 m of ascent and runs around the Helvellyn Massif. Entry and requirements
Entries use a pre-selection process and are strictly vetted. Competitors must be at least 19 years old on race day. Applicants must demonstrate significant mountain and climbing experience. Acceptable evidence includes graded scrambling of 2 or above, lead climbing skills, winter or alpine climbing skills, or relevant solo climbs. Runners are also asked to show completion of several mountain races or runs of about 30 km/18 miles or more in the past five years, or equivalent long mountain challenges.
No payment is taken at the pre-selection stage; successful applicants are invited to complete payment to confirm a place. Entry fees are listed as £110 (early), rising to £120 and £130 at later dates. The Race Director has final authority on entry decisions.
