Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme

The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a technical skyrunning event held in the Lake District, specifically centered around the Helvellyn Massif. Based in Patterdale, this race covers a distance of 28 km with a total ascent of 2700 m.

The course consists of technical single tracks and terrain that requires hands-on rock experience. Participants encounter five graded scrambles along the route, including knife-edge ridge-lines and scree-ridden descents. The path weaves through the Glenridding Mines and features high ascent profiles relative to the total distance.

Due to the technical nature of the course, entries are strictly vetted. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in climbing and scrambling. Required skills include experience with Graded Scrambling (Grade 2 or above), lead climbing, winter climbing, or alpine climbing. This event is designed for those who have specific experience with graded rock routes rather than standard mountain walking or running.

The event has a maximum allowed time of 10 hours and follows a pre-selection entry process. It is part of the Skyrunner Series UK and adheres to various safety and participant care policies.
