Place Fell 15

The Place Fell 15 is a 15 km trail race located in Patterdale within the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event takes place at the King George Playing Field and forms part of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend. The course features approximately 680 m of total ascent and follows a route around the base of Place Fell on the shores of Ullswater.

The route consists of fully marked trails, footpaths, and short sections of tarmac road. Participants begin in Patterdale and travel in an anti-clockwise direction. The terrain includes a mix of fields, mildly technical trails, and a stepped path leading to Silver Bay. The course eventually rises to Boredale Hause, offering views of the Kirkstone Pass and surrounding fells, followed by a semi-technical descent back toward the finish area.

The event is open to participants aged 16 and older. There is a maximum time limit of 3.5 hours to complete the course. Along the route, runners have access to an aid station located mid-way and manned checkpoints for timing and safety.

All finishers receive a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal and vegan salty soup at the conclusion of the race. Registration is managed through a pre-entry system with a set entry fee of £40.00.
