Place Fell 15 is scheduled for 18 July 2026 at King George Playing Field in Patterdale. The race is organised by Lake District Sky Trails and is part of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend. The event is a semi-technical trail race of 15 km with approximately 680 m of ascent. The minimum age is 16. Entry fee is £40. Entries open 4 October 2025 and close 15 July 2026. The maximum time allowed on course is 3.5 hours.

Course and on-course support

The route circumnavigates Place Fell in an anti-clockwise direction, starting from the event centre and running around the shores of Ullswater. The early section includes fields and mildly technical trails, followed by a short road section and the start of the main circuit. The course passes Silver Crag and descends to Silver Bay, then reaches a mid-way feed and water station (CP2). The route continues into Boredale, uses a short tarmac road, and climbs to Boredale Hause (CP4) before a fast, semi-technical descent that returns runners past CP1/CP5 toward the finish at the events centre. The event includes manned checkpoints, fully marked trails, and a recycled paper-mache wild flower seed bomb medal. A vegan salty soup is provided after the race.
