Place Fell 15

Place Fell 15 is a semi technical trail race of 15 km that circumnavigates the base of Place Fell on the shores of Ullswater. The event takes place in Patterdale with the event centre at King George Playing Field and is part of the Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend on 18 July 2026.

The route covers approximately 680 m of ascent and has a maximum allowed time of 3.5 hours. The course is fully waymarked and combines fields, mildly technical trails, a short road section and steeper trail climbs. Runners follow an anti clockwise circuit that passes Silver Crag, descends stepped paths to Silver Bay, reaches a mid route feed and water station at CP2, travels through Boredale and briefly uses a tarmac road before climbing to Boredale Hause at CP4 with views toward Kirkstone Pass. The return includes a fast, semi technical descent and a final passage through the earlier checkpoint before finishing at the events centre.

Event services listed by the organiser include a mid way aid station, manned checkpoints, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal and vegan salty soup after the race. Lakeside Relays is a charity relay at Haverthwaite Station near Ulverston, with mixed teams made on the day and all ages running together on a short 0.80 miles loop that gains about 60 feet.
