The event takes place on Sunday, 11 October 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. It is a 7 hour timed trail event on a generally flat course. Maximum entries are 300. Entries close 10/10/2026. Minimum age is 12 years. Anyone wishing to run over 45 km must be 20 years or older; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. Transfers are allowed online for £2.50 up to the day before the event. A deferral to another event is available for a one-off fee of £18. Entry fees listed are Affiliated £27.00 and Unattached £29.00.

Course, distances and facilities

The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail route. It is fully signed; the regular lap is 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The event uses 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to meet age-distance rules.

There is an aid table and drinks at the start/finish of each lap with savoury and sweet options and vegan choices. Toilets and changing facilities are at race HQ. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal and a goody bag; vegan goody bags are offered. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances.
