Saturn 7 Hour Time Challenge - Gilesgate

SATURN - Scare Bear Run 2026 - North

This is a 7 hour timed challenge held on a signed trail loop beside the River Wear in Durham. Participants choose how many laps to run within seven hours, with a minimum official finishing distance of 3 km. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (about 7 km) but the course may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop based on a health and safety review. The route is described as flat and provides views of the Cathedral.

Facilities at the race headquarters include toilets and changing areas. A bag drop is provided near the start and finish but it is unstaffed and the organiser accepts no liability for lost items. An aid and drinks table is available at the start/finish each lap with a range of drinks and snacks, including vegan options. Headphones are allowed. Parking options include nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer achievements.
