Saturn 7 Hour Time Challenge - Gilesgate

This is a 7-hour timed running event. Participants choose their own distance, running laps of a measured course. The minimum distance is 3 km. Each full lap is 4.37 miles (7 km), though this is subject to change to a 3.28-mile loop depending on course conditions. Distances are marked at 3 km and 5 km turn points on the loop. Runners complete 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 laps for a marathon, and 7 or more for an ultra marathon. A 50 km distance is also available.

The course runs along a stretch of the River Wear in Durham, with views of the Cathedral, and is classified as a trail run. The path is fully signed.

All finishers completing at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins for a half-marathon or more are available. An aid station at the start/finish area provides drinks, crisps, cheese, fruit, cookies, and vegan options. Goody bags, including a vegan option, are given to all finishers.

Race HQ provides toilets and changing facilities. On-site bag storage is available but is not secure or watched. Headphones are permitted. On-street parking is available nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
