Rising Sun Country Park 10K Trail Run 2026

The event takes place on 27 September 2026 at Rising Sun Country Park, Whitley Road, Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne NE12 9SS. It is organised by VO2 Max Events and is held in the park area about 5 miles north east of Newcastle city centre in North Tyneside.

The route covers grasslands, woodlands and a nature reserve. The trails mix marked and unmarked paths and pass through different forest habitats. Runners may encounter local wildlife and should expect varied underfoot conditions including wet patches, muddy sections and some steep inclines.

Entry requires a minimum age of 16 years on the day. The event lists live chip timing and live online results, marshals on the route, event photography, a finish line snack and finish line merchandise. Participants receive a finisher's medal. Participate in a 9 km fell race through the Durham countryside north of Stanhope. This event is part of the North East Fell Running Championships and features a 300 m climb for runners aged 18 and over.

Join this Beacon Hill fell race on Thu 9 Jul 2026 at Lordenshaw car park, Rothbury. A testing 6.6 mile course with 410 m of climb, entry on the day and teams of three welcome for a spirited summer challenge.

A muddy 5 km obstacle course at Town Moor, Newcastle on 11 July 2026 with climbs, crawls and slides. The event has a £50 fundraising target, labelled entry fees, and limited on-site parking and accessibility.

An evening team relay at Derwenthaugh Country Park on 16 July, run by Derwent Valley Running Club. Teams of three, age 16 plus, must include at least one male and one female; entry is £18 per team and parking is limited.
