Mud Madness - Chatelherault Country Park

Mud Madness takes place on 4 October 2026 at Chatelherault Country Park and is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture. The event features mud runs with obstacles, water slides and river hazards around the Avon.

The event includes these distances:

  • 1 km mini mud run for ages 4 to 11
  • 5 km family mud run for primary age and above; under 8s must be accompanied by an adult

Bookings open 9 March 2026 and close 1 October 2026. Entry fees listed for the event are: 1 km junior £11; 5 km adult £23 and junior £15; family ticket £57 (maximum two adults and two juniors). Group and club discounts are available through the organiser.

The course is marked with signs, tape and arrows and will have marshals in high visibility clothing. Obstacles are placed throughout and there are water hazards near the river Avon. The 1 km children’s route runs on the lawn with marshals at each obstacle; adults may jog around the taped route to cheer or assist children if needed.

At registration all runners receive a Mud Madness t-shirt. Runners collect a medal at the finish together with water and a snack. Parking is provided at the Play Park and BBQ Area; visitors are asked not to use the Function Car Park beyond the house. Toilets are available in the Visitor Centre; there are no changing facilities or showers. Bag storage tags will be available from registration and the bag drop is on the lawn. The Oaks Cafe in the main house is open to participants after the event.

Photography and video recording may take place; images may be used by the organiser and sponsors. If a participant prefers not to be photographed they can request an opt-out at registration or speak to staff on the day, and a discreet wristband can be provided. Media will be retained for up to three years and removal requests can be made to the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
