Mud Madness - Chatelherault
Mud Madness takes place on 4 October 2026 at Chatelherault Country Park and is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture. The event combines mud runs, water slides, obstacles and a dip in the river Avon, with start and finish on the main lawn.
- 1 km mini mud run for ages 4 to 11
- 5 km family mud run open to primary age children and above
The 1 km children’s route is on the lawn with marshals at each obstacle and is not designed for adult runners, although adults may assist youngsters by briefly entering the taped area. The 5 km course is marked with signs, tape and arrows, includes obstacles and water hazards around the river Avon, and will run in staggered waves every ten minutes. Marshals in high visibility clothing will be positioned around the course to assist or to request first aid.
Entry fees are published for junior, adult and family tickets, with a family ticket covering up to two adults and two juniors. Bookings open 9 March 2026 and close 1 October 2026; online places cannot be guaranteed after booking closes and day entries may be restricted. Group and club discounts are available and organisers can reserve spaces for large groups.
At registration each runner receives a Mud Madness t shirt. Finishers collect a medal along with water and a snack. Bag storage tags will be available at registration and a bag drop area will be on the lawn. Parking is provided at the Play Park and BBQ Area; toilets are in the Visitor Centre and there are no changing facilities or showers on site. Participants are advised to bring running shoes, suitable clothing, and a change of clothes or a bin bag for the journey home.
