Mud Madness - Chatelherault

Mud Madness takes place at Chatelherault Country Park on 4 October 2026 and is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture. The event includes muddy obstacles, water hazards near the River Avon, slides, and a dip in the river.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 1 km mini mud run (age 4 to 11)
  • 5 km family mud run (primary age and above; under 8s to be accompanied)

The 5 km event is run in staggered waves every 10 minutes. The 1 km children’s route is on the lawn with marshals at each obstacle; adults may jog around the taped route to cheer or assist small children if needed. The course will be marked with signs, tape, and arrows and staffed by marshals in high visibility clothing. First aid assistance is available from marshals.

Bookings open on 9 March 2026 and close on 1 October 2026. Entry fees are listed as £11 for the 1 km junior run, £23 for an adult 5 km entry, £15 for a junior 5 km entry, and a family ticket at £57 (maximum two adults and two juniors). Group and club discounts are available via the organiser.

At registration all runners receive a Mud Madness t-shirt. Finishers collect a medal, water, and a snack. On-site parking is available at the Play Park and BBQ Area. Visitor Centre toilets are available; there are no changing rooms or showers. Bag storage tags are provided at registration and the bag drop is on the lawn.

Photography and video recording may take place. Attendees can request an opt-out wristband at registration and can ask for image removal afterwards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
