Balloch Castle Country Park Half Marathon

Balloch, United Kingdom • 8 Aug 2026

Balloch Castle Country Park 5k, 10k and Half Marathon

This event takes place at Balloch Castle Country Park by Loch Lomond and offers three distance options:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • Half Marathon

Entries are managed through the booking partner Let's Do This. Race bibs and timing chips are collected at the registration desk on the day of the event; registration typically opens about one and a half hours before each race. All races are chip timed and the chip is integrated into the race bib, which should be secured to an outer garment.

The course is measured and the event provides finishers medals, hydration stations, kilometre markers, course marshals, an instructor led warm up, music on course, and goody bags that include sports nutrition snacks and offers. Race day photos are made available after the event and are free to view. Online entries usually close two days before the event and on the day entries are generally available; typical on the day cash prices are £20 for the 5k and £25 for the 10k.

Participant rules and services include age guidance in line with Scottish Athletics (5k runners should be 11 or older; 10k runners should be over 15), a typical cut off time of 1.5 hours for 5k/10k and 3 hours for half marathon, no dogs, and a restriction on standard headphones with bone conduction devices allowed. Volunteer roles are available with typical hours in the morning and include refreshments and a free entry to an Up and Running Event.
