Scare Bear Run 2026 - North

Scare Bear Run 2026 North is a trail running event scheduled for 11 October 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Old Elvet, Durham. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.

This is a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose how many laps to complete. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A 3 km minimum finisher distance is marked within the lap. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points to assist compliance with UK Athletics age rules. Typical lap counts are: three laps for a half marathon, six for a marathon, seven or more for an ultra. A 50 km option is also available.

The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is fully signed. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Scare Bear themed medal; distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances. Aid tables and drinks are provided at the start and finish of each lap with vegan options. Toilets and changing facilities are available at race HQ. A bag drop is provided but is unattended and items are left at the participant's risk. Pay and display parking is available in nearby streets and the city centre; competitors must not use the rowing club car park. Participate in a 9 km fell race through the Durham countryside north of Stanhope. This event is part of the North East Fell Running Championships and features a 300 m climb for runners aged 18 and over.

A muddy 5 km obstacle course at Town Moor, Newcastle on 11 July 2026 with climbs, crawls and slides. The event has a £50 fundraising target, labelled entry fees, and limited on-site parking and accessibility.

The The Sting Backyard Ultra will take place in Richmond (North Yorkshire) on Saturday 11 July 2026. You can run between 4 and 7 kilometers.

Experience a summer evening fell race in Weardale featuring a 7 km out and back route. Runners will tackle 400 meters of ascent to reach the 700 meter summit of Chapelfell Top before a fast descent to St John's Chapel.
