Scare Bear Run 2026 - North is an in-person trail running event at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU on 11 October 2026. The event is organised by Saturn Running as a 7-hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose how many laps to complete. The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is fully signed. Headphones are allowed. Events take place on public footpaths and participants are asked to be considerate of other path users.

Course support and facilities

Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start/finish of each lap with drinks and snacks, including vegan options. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan alternative available on request. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance or more and are attached to the medal ribbon. Race HQ offers toilets and changing facilities. A bag drop is available but unstaffed and left at participants' own risk. Nearby free on-street parking or pay-and-display city centre parking is available.
