The Four Reservoirs Ultra Trail Run takes place on 19 October 2025 in Shotley Bridge, County Durham. The event offers two distances:

Course, services and rules

The 25 km route follows the ultra course until Rowley Station, then descends beside the A68 to Allensford Park and rejoins through Ebchester, Hamsterley and the Derwent Walk. The 53 km route is a circular course from Shotley Bridge via the Derwent Walk and Waskerley Way, past Waskerley, Smiddy Shaw and Hisehope Reservoirs, a road section through Muggleswick with views over Derwent Reservoir, footpaths in Derwent Gorge and Muggleswick Woods, and a return via Ebchester, Hamsterley and the Derwent Walk line.

There are 3 feed stations on the 53 km and 1 feed station on the 25 km. All stations include VOOM Nutrition Pocket Rockets, VOOM Hydration and a range of sweet and savoury snacks. Mandatory kit includes a backpack with fluids, a charged mobile phone with ICE contacts saved, food or gels, a lightweight jacket and a headtorch (required if finishing after 5pm). The 53 km must be completed within 9.5 hours of daylight. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, a long-sleeved event top and a drink and snack. Free parking is available at Shotley Bridge Hospital and Surgery. Registration opens 01/11/2024 and closes 15/10/2025; listed entry prices are £35.00 for 25 km and £49.00 for 53 km.
