Floors Castle Trail Race

The Floors Castle Trail Race takes place on the grounds of Floors Castle near Kelso. The course uses hard packed gravel trails that pass through gardens and ancient woodlands and offers panoramic views from around the estate. The race village is located on the main lawn in front of the castle.

Distances and minimum ages:

  • 10km : two laps around the grounds, age 17+
  • 5km : one lap through the gardens, age 15+
  • Junior 3km : shorter loop for ages 9 to 14

The running routes are described as undulating but fast and are spectator friendly. The venue is private property and is open to the public between May and September. Entry to the Floors Castle estate is included with the event for participants.

A waymarked 100 km point to point trail along the Northumberland coast from Bamburgh to Tynemouth Priory. The event includes six feed stations, medical cover, runner tracking and a 24 hour cut off.

A 7.5 mile trail race from The Cheviot Centre in Wooler that visits Humbleton Hill twice plus Brownslaw and Coldberry hills. Navigation is by GPX file only and dogs are not permitted.

A timed, multi-leg ultra from Kielder Castle where solo runners or Ekiden teams cover five radial routes totalling 170 miles within 36 hours, with the North leg to Carter Bar required as the finale and self navigation required.

A 10.4 km hill race organised by Carnethy Hill Running Club around Traprain Law, featuring a river wade, a steep rocky ascent with rope and an extra climb via Pencraig Wood. Entry fee £7.50 and entries accepted on the day.
