Run the Raid Lindisfarne Trail Marathon and Half Marathon

Run the Raid is a road and trail event on Holy Island and in Spittal, Berwick-upon-Tweed taking place on Sunday 2nd August 2026. The courses use coastal paths, quiet lanes and sea views. The marathon starts and finishes on Holy Island and runs to Spittal and back. The half marathon starts in Spittal and finishes on Holy Island.

Event facilities include chip timing, aid stations with hydration approximately every three miles, first aid at aid stations and at the finish, full medical cover, signed routes, and age category awards. All finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal. Commemorative t shirts are available to purchase during entry and can be collected on the event weekend.

Entry details are explicit: all standard race services are included in the entry fee with no additional add-ons. Entry limits and minimum ages differ by race. Marathon places are capped; the half marathon has a larger entry limit. The organiser posts marathon bib packs before the event and provides on the day bib pack collection for half marathon runners at the start in Spittal. The causeway to Holy Island is subject to tides and may be impassable outside safe crossing windows. Time limits apply: 6 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon.

A marshalled, approximately 14 mile coastal race from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary on 26 July 2026 with a three hour 30 minute cut-off and a 1000-runner limit. Bus transfers and T-shirt options must be booked by 14 June 2026.

A seven mile trail through Ingram Valley that visits ancient hillforts and offers views of the Cheviot Hills. The course is fully marked and registration and race numbers are handled at Ingram Village Hall; dogs are not permitted.
