Lindisfarne Run The Raid

Lindisfarne Run The Raid is a trail running event on Holy Island and the surrounding coast. It offers two race distances and follows coastal paths, quiet lanes and sections of multi-terrain underfoot. Trail or sturdy road shoes are recommended.

  • Marathon limited to 100 places.
  • Half Marathon limited to 500 places.

The marathon route runs from Lindisfarne Castle to Spittal and back to Lindisfarne. The half marathon is a point to point route starting in Spittal and finishing on Holy Island. Access to Holy Island is subject to tidal conditions and the causeway can be flooded at certain times. Event time limits are six hours for the marathon and four hours for the half marathon.

Support on course includes hydration roughly every three miles and first aid at those stations and at the finish. Bib packs are available for collection on the day at the Spittal start point and there is also a collection opportunity the day before at the main car park on Holy Island. An optional coach service to the half marathon start is offered with a small additional fee; the coach operates only before the race and there is no return service after finishing.

Entry fees and optional extras are published for each distance. Finishers receive a commemorative medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
