Northumberland Coastal Run 2026

The Northumberland Coastal Run is an approximately 14 mile point-to-point race along the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary. The route follows the coast as closely as possible and includes sections on sand, road and trail; it begins on sand and finishes on sand at Alnmouth. The course is unmarked and not a fun run. It is fully marshalled and has first aid support throughout. The race is not suitable for wheelchairs and no animals are allowed. Minimum age of entry is 18.

The event is organised by Alnwick Harriers and entry is limited to 1000 participants. Entry fees are stated as £25 for UKA/British Athletics affiliated runners and £27 for non-affiliated runners, with an administration fee of 5% applied to each order. No refunds are offered; deferral requests are handled individually by the race director. Transfers are allowed up until six weeks before the event on 14 June 2026. T-shirt choices include no T-shirt, a unisex T-shirt for £12.50, or donating the T-shirt value to North Northumberland Hospice Care Charity; the T-shirt option is not available for entries after 14 June 2026.

A pre-purchased bus transfer to the start is available for £6 and will be printed on race numbers; only those with pre-purchased tickets may board. The bus travels to the Beadnell start only and there is no transport back to the start after the race. Parking at Beadnell and Alnmouth is limited and vehicles are asked to use the designated car park at the bus collection point at Hipsburn School.
