Northumberland Coastal Run 2026
The Northumberland Coastal Run is an approximately 14 mile point-to-point race on 26 July 2026, organised by Alnwick Harriers. The route follows the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, keeping close to the coast. Surfaces include sand, road, trail and sand at the finish.
The event is limited to 1000 entrants. It is fully marshalled and has first aid support along the route. Organisers describe the course as not a fun run; it is unmarked and subject to a three hour 30 minute cut-off for tide and safety reasons. The race is not suitable for wheelchairs and animals are not permitted. Minimum entry age is 18.
Entry fees differ by affiliation: a reduced fee for UKA/British Athletics affiliated runners and a standard fee for non-affiliated entrants; an administration fee is applied to orders. No refunds are available; deferrals can be considered by the race director on an individual basis. A unisex T-shirt may be selected for an additional fee or the T-shirt price can be donated to North Northumberland Hospice Care Charity; T-shirt and bus ticket options are not available for entries made after 14 June 2026.
Parking in Beadnell and Alnmouth is limited; organisers advise using the designated car park at the bus collection point at Hipsburn School. A bus transfer to the start is available for a fee but only for those who pre-purchase tickets; the bus travels to the start only and no return transport is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
