Event overview

The Northumberland Coastal Run takes place on 26 July 2026 and is organised by Alnwick Harriers. The event covers approximately 14 miles along the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to the Alnmouth Estuary, keeping close to the coast through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The route uses a mix of surfaces: sand, road and trail, and finishes on sand at Alnmouth. The course is unmarked, not suitable for wheelchairs, and animals are not allowed. There is a 3 hour 30 minute cut-off for the event, stated as for tide and safety reasons. Entry is restricted to a maximum of 1,000 participants and the minimum age of entry is 18.
