Saint Cuthbert's Way Ultra

Saint Cuthbert's Way Ultra is a trail running event organised by Trail Outlaws that follows a long-distance walking route in the United Kingdom. The event takes place on 10 July 2026 and is based at Wooler Youth Hostel in Wooler, Northumberland.

The route is fully way marked and includes five timed, fully stocked checkpoints. All runners are monitored with live GPS tracking. Organiser information indicates there are recce runs along the route before race day.

Two distance options are offered:

  • 100 km - runners must race against the tide at one section.
  • 45 miles - finishes at Wooler Youth Hostel and shares checkpoints with the longer route.

Race services and event logistics noted by the organiser include staffed checkpoints with supplies and live tracking for safety and monitoring. Accommodation and travel options appear among available offers, including beds at the hostel and coach travel from Wooler to the race start.

Reviews from previous editions referenced way marking, GPX files, checkpoint support and the tidal cutoff for Holy Island, indicating that navigation and changing underfoot conditions can be part of the event experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
